Section2. 9.9.1 shall be deleted and replaced as follows:
Section2. The Lodge and the employer agree that the purpose and intent of this agreement is to contribute to the development ofharmonious and cooperative relationships between government and its employees, to recognize mutual interests and to reduce to a minimum the causes of employee relations disputes.
Section2. Employees in this unit may be directed by the employer or may request on their own initiative to attend the work related training activities. Requests to attend such functions which are submitted by employees shall indicate the nature of the function to be attended, the time away from n01mal duties necessary to attend the function, and the approximate costs of registration, per diem or other travel expenses in accordance with applicable rules and regulations established by the Department of Administration.
Section2. When authorized by the Kansas Legislature, unit members presently in the ICPERS may elect to transfer to ICP&F. The paiiies to this Agreement recognize that if Legislative action does not provide for the transfer of unit members to the KP&F, unit members will continue to paiiicipate in ICPERS.
Section2. TerminationandDistribution-- IntheeventthisTrust or any Benefit Plan is terminated or partially terminated, the Trustees are authorized and empowered to dispose of the Trust assets attributable to the terminated Benefit Plan (orportion thereof) in accordance with the purposes specified in Article V, Section 10, paragraphs (a) and (b) of this Trust Agreement, and none other, and upon the disbursement of the entire Trust Fund,thisTrust shall terminate.
Section2. The Employer and the Union recognize that the public interest requires high standards of employee performance and the continuing development and implementation of work practices that facilitate improved employee performance and efficiency. It is the purpose and intent of this Agreement to contribute and promote the efficient conduct of public business, to contribute to the development of harmonious and cooperative relationships between government and its employees, to recognize mutual interests, and to reduce to a minimum the causes of employee relation disputes by reducing to writing certain terms and conditions of employment that apply to employees covered by this Agreement, all of which will enable the parties to better fulfill their mission. ARTICLE2 RECOGNITION
Section2. All Union notices shall be posted and initialed by the local Union President or designee and shall relate to the matters listed below:
Section2. The party requesting supplemental meet and confer shall give thirty (30) days notice of the request, and it shall contain a statement of the Article (s) and topic(s) on which supplemental meet and confer is requested. The parties shall schedule supplemental meet and confer within (30) days of the receipt of the notice. Pending resolution of meet and confer, current practices shall be maintained if the matter is not covered by the MOA. If the matter is covered by the MOA, all aiticles or sections requested to modified shall remain in full force and effect until ratified and approved as required by Atticle 26, Approval and Duration.
Section2. The Company shall inform the appropriate Union representative within seven (7) days notice prior to the effective date of any suspension, demotion or discharge action.
Section2. An employee having completed his/her probationary period shall be entitled to pay at his/her regular hourly base rate as outlined below for any of the above holidays provided he/she is not absent on any of his/her scheduled working days immediately preceding or following the holiday, unless the absence is excused by management.
