Common use of Seniority Procedures Clause in Contracts

Seniority Procedures. A. Seniority Date: The seniority of an employee within the bargaining unit shall be established on the date on which the employee began continuous daily employment (hereinafter called "hire date") regardless of the number of hours worked, unless such seniority shall be lost as hereinafter provided. If more than one employee has the same date of hire, they should be invited to a meeting where the more senior employee will be determined by toss of a coin.
