Common use of Sick Leave Conversion Clause in Contracts

Sick Leave Conversion. An employee may convert sick leave, in excess of ninety (90) days, into vacation leave at the rate of one (1) vacation day for each sick day, up to a maximum of five (5) vacation days per year. Requests to convert sick leave must be submitted within the month of January of each year.

An employee may convert Any Employee who has accumulated eight hundred (800) hours or more of sick leaveleave may, in excess of ninety (90) days, into vacation leave at the rate Employee’s option, convert two (2) hours of sick leave to one (1) vacation day for each sick day, hour vacation/pay up to a maximum of five eighty (580) vacation days per year. Requests to convert hours vacation/or pay (160 hours of sick leave must be submitted within the month of January of each leave) one time in a contract year.

Sick Leave Conversion. In February of each year, employees may convert a maximum of one hundred sixty (160) hours of sick leave to vacation at a ratio of four (4) sick leave hours to one (1) vacation hour. Example: Employee requests conversion of 160 hours of sick leave; 40 hours of vacation leave are added to the employee’s vacation bank. An employee may convert must have at least eighty (80) hours remaining in his/her sick leave, in excess leave bank after the conversion. Such conversion does not impact the ongoing accrual of ninety (90) days, into vacation sick leave at the rate of one (1) vacation day for each sick day, up to a maximum of five (5) vacation 12 days per year. Requests to convert sick leave must be submitted within the month of January of each year.
