Sick Leave Credit. The Board shall furnish each teacher with a written statement before the beginning of each school year setting forth the total sick leave credit. Sick leave credit for less than full time positions (7 hours/day, 5 days/week) will be prorated and shall be computed per the examples below. The contract provides for 70 hours of sick leave time for a full time position. Examples: Position (part time day, full time week): 3.5 hours/day, 5 days per week Number of hours worked per week: 3.5 hours X 5 days = 17.5 hours/week 17.5 hours divided by 35 hours (FT work week) = .5 FTE (full time equivalent) .5 FTE X 70 hours (FT) = 35 hours 35 hours divided by 3.5 (PT work day) = 10 sick leave days @ 3.5 hours each Position (part time day, part time week): 3.5 hours/day, 3 days per week Number of hours worked per week: 3.5 x 3 days = 10.5 hours/week 10.5 hours divided by 35 hours (FT work week) = .3 FTE (full time equivalent) .3 FTE X 70 hours (FT) = 21 hours 21 hours divided by 3.5 (PT work day) = 6 sick leave days @3.5 hours each
