Sick Leave Usage. A. In all cases where an employee is compelled to be absent from duty on account of illness, injury, or pregnancy (to the extent allowed by law), the employee shall report the same as soon as practicable to the Department. The Department may require such employee to be examined by the Medical Services Division of the Personnel Department, which shall only report to the Department that the employee is or is not capable of performing the essential duties of his/her position.
