Sick Leave Use During Leaves of Absence. An employee who is hospitalized at the time that a leave of absence without pay becomes effective, or lay-off occurs, shall be entitled to claim use of accumulated sick leave credits for the duration of the hospitalization to the extent credits provide. An employee who is ill and hospitalized at the time a leave of absence without pay concludes, or at the time of recall to work following lay-off, shall be entitled to claim use of accumulated sick leave credits for the duration of the illness or to the extent credits provide.
