At no time will the safety of employees or the community be compromised through the introduction of inappropriate single person tasks. The parties acknowledge that ENERGEX field based staff have been undertaking single person tasks in certain situations for many years. Such tasks include work such as:  Disconnects and reconnects where there is no exposure to live parts;  Asset inspection and scoping of work;  Layout investigations;  Work that does not require the employee to work above 2.0 metres;  LV isolation/connections utilising a telescopic link stick from the ground;  Polarity – ground based;  LV testing in accordance with the Electrical Safety Xxx 0000;  Meter changes where the supply has been isolated; and  Changing plug in meters where the meter base has been pre wired. As with all work carried out in ENERGEX, an onsite risk assessment must be conducted prior to work commencing. Where an employee identifies additional risks, e.g. remote locations or another worksite hazard that requires them to carry out the work with the assistance of another employee, work will not commence until all facets of the onsite risk assessment are satisfied. Where ENERGEX is considering implementing single-person tasks in addition to those outlined above, a formal consultative process will be put in place to achieve a satisfactory outcome that meets all identified safety requirements and resolves the concerns of the affected employees and their representatives. When required, the consultative process will involve management and employee representatives and such process will continue until agreed, unanimously on relevant changes to current work practices. Agreement is not required where it can be demonstrated that ENERGEX staff have been undertaking this task previously and in accordance with the appropriate work practices and safety requirements.
