Common use of Special or Compassionate Leave Clause in Contracts

Special or Compassionate Leave. 23.3.1 The Employer may grant an employee a leave of absence with pay for not more than three (3) days in a year for special or compassionate purposes. 23.3.2 Notwithstanding subsection 23.3.1, the CEO or his or her designee in his or her discretion may grant an employee a leave of absence with pay for a specified period for special or compassionate purposes. 23.3.3 Omit as no longer applicable 23.3.4 An employee granted a leave of absence pursuant to Article 23.3 shall accrue credits and be covered by benefit plans during such leave.
