Pay Administration for Temporary Assignments. 19.8.1 Where an employee is acting in a position or assignment in a classification with a higher salary maximum for a period in excess of five (5) consecutive working days, he or she shall be paid acting pay from the day he or she commenced to perform the duties of the higher classification. Such an employee shall receive an increase of at least three percent (3%); however, in no case shall the resulting salary be less than the minimum of the higher classification.

When an employee who has been in a temporary assignment returns to his or her regular position, his or her salary will be readjusted to that which would have been in effect if he or she had continuously occupied that position including the merit increases that the employee would have received. When an employee is temporarily assigned to the duties and responsibilities of a position with a lower salary maximum where there is not work reasonably available for him or her in the position from which he or she was assigned, he or she shall be paid within the range of the lower classification to which he or she was assigned after the expiration of ten (10) consecutive working days. When an employee is temporarily assigned for operational reasons to the duties and responsibilities of a position in a classification with a lower maximum salary, he or she shall continue to be paid at the same salary as his or her home position. An employee shall retain his or her normal salary where he or she is temporarily assigned to perform the duties and responsibilities of another employee who is on vacation.

  • Employees on Long Term Supply Assignments Employees completing long term supply assignments may only access sick leave and short term disability leave in the fiscal year in which the allocation was provided. Any remaining allocation may be used in subsequent long term supply assignments, provided these occur within the same fiscal year. Employees employed in a Long Term Supply Assignment which is less than the ordinary period of employment for the position shall have their sick leave and short term disability allocations pro-rated accordingly. Where the length of the long term supply assignment is not known in advance, a projected length must be determined at the start of the assignment in order for the appropriate allocation of sick leave/short term disability leave to occur. If a change is made to the length of the assignment, an adjustment will be made to the allocation and applied retroactively.

  • PAY ADMINISTRATION 64.01 Except as provided in this Article, the terms and conditions governing the application of pay to employees are not affected by this Agreement.
