SPLIT OR ROTATED SHIFTS. No employee shall be required to work a split or mandated rotated shift. No Employee covered by this Agreement will be assigned or scheduled to work a split shift except by his or her own request. If requested to do so, an Employee may either accept or decline that request without fear of disciplinary action. For the purposes of this section, a split shift shall be defined as an Employee working more than one shift within a calendar day. This paragraph does not apply to Individuals working on modified duty due to a work-related injury.

  • Split Shifts No shift shall be split for a period longer than the regularly scheduled meal and rest periods as provided for in Article 14.08.

  • Split Shift Except as otherwise provided in subsection B. below, any employee required to work a split shift shall be paid at a rate of five percent over and above his/her regular straight-time hourly rate of pay for the entire number of hours so worked. For purposes of this subsection "split shift" is defined as any eight hour daily tour of duty taking more than nine and one-half consecutive hours to complete.

  • Broken Shifts (a) An employee may agree to work broken shifts at any time; however an employee may be required to work broken shifts in the following circumstances:

Except for emergencies (see Section D), employees' work schedules shall not be changed without written notice to the employee at least five (5) working days prior to the date the change is to be effective.   • Rotating Shifts Nurses required to work rotating shifts (days, evenings and nights) shall be scheduled in such a way as to equitably as possible assign the rotation. This does not preclude a Nurse from being continuously assigned to an evening or night shift if the Nurse and the Employer mutually agree to such an arrangement.

  • Reinstatement of Vacation Days - Sick Leave In the event an employee is sick or injured prior to the commencement of his/her vacation, such employee shall be granted sick leave and the vacation period so displaced shall be added to the vacation period if requested by the employee and by mutual agreement, or shall be reinstated for use at a later date.

  • No Split Shifts With the exception of the meal period, an employee's shift for the day shall be comprised of consecutive hours of work unless otherwise mutually agreed to between the employee and the Co-operative.

  • Extra Shifts Where an employee agrees to work or is required by the Employer to work a shift(s) or portion thereof, in excess of the employee’s scheduled work week, the employee will receive pay at the rate of one and one‐half (1½) times the employee’s regular hourly rate for such excess hours worked, with a minimum of three (3) hours at the rate of one and one‐half (1½) times the employee’s regular rate of pay.

  • Hour Shifts When the Employer deems it necessary to implement a twelve (12) hour work day, affected employees shall be notified pursuant to Clause 14.05. The following Clauses shall be replaced or added to the Collective Agreement where appropriate.

  • Mourner's Leave One (1) day's leave shall be granted without loss of pay or wages to attend a funeral as a pallbearer.
