Common use of STAND DOWN Clause in Contracts

STAND DOWN. 19.1 The Employer may stand down an Employee without pay where the Employee cannot be usefully employed due to a strike, or breakdown of machinery, or stoppage of work for any cause where the Employer cannot reasonably be held responsible. 19.2 For the avoidance of doubt, an Employee’s continuity of service is not broken during a period of stand down.
