Stand Down Without Pay. The Employer may stand an Employee down without pay for a temporary period due to circumstances beyond their control (i.e. cyclonic or flood conditions prevent access to work or a shutdown of all or part or all the Employer’s operations) that prevents the Employee from being usefully employed.

Stand Down Without Pay. Following the company endeavouring to take all reasonable steps to maintain continuity of work, where an employee cannot be usefully employed due to no fault of the employer, the employee can be stood down by the company.
Stand Down Without Pay. The parties agree that, in cases involving allegations of serious misconduct, introduction of a “stand- down without pay” period may be appropriate, either as a penalty against the employee and/or to enable investigations covering the alleged incident to be undertaken. In each case where “stand-down without pay” is being considered, prior consultation and endorsement for the action will be made between the ENERGEX manager responsible for industrial relations and the relevant employee’s representative. In addition, any period of stand-down without pay will not exceed two (2) normal work days. This period may be extended following agreement in writing between the ENERGEX manager responsible for industrial relations and the relevant employee’s representative. In those instances where a period of “stand-down without pay” is introduced to enable misconduct allegations to be investigated, the employee will be reimbursed for any loss of wages occurring during the period of stand-down if the allegations of misconduct are either withdrawn or subsequently not proven, and no disciplinary action is taken. For the purposes of this provision, “serious misconduct” is defined as behaviour by an employee that would warrant “summary dismissal”.

  • Leave Without Pay An employee shall not be entitled to payment for a public holiday falling during a period of leave without pay (including sick leave and military leave without pay) unless the employee has worked during the fortnight ending on the day on which the holiday is observed.

  • Without Pay where an employee participates in a program of training for the purpose of qualifying for a higher rank; or

  • Suspension Without Pay If Employee is suspended and/or temporarily prohibited from participating in the conduct of the Employer's affairs by a notice served under Section 8(e)(3) or (g)(1) of the Federal Deposit Insurance Act, the Employer's obligations under this Agreement will be suspended as of the date of service thereof, unless stayed by appropriate proceedings. If the charges in such notice are dismissed, the Employer may in its discretion:

  • Authorized Leave Without Pay A. Agency/Departmental Leave‌ A regular, limited-term or probationary employee may request an agency/departmental leave without pay for a period of time not to exceed fifteen (15) calendar days. The granting of such Leave shall be at the discretion of the agency/department, except in cases where Official Leave has been authorized pursuant to B.4., B.5. and Sections 10, 11.A. and 14, below. The agency/department head may require that all accumulated compensatory leave time be used prior to granting of agency/departmental leave. The use of earned vacation or annual leave prior to the obtaining of agency/departmental leave shall be at the option of the employee.

  • Leaves Without Pay A. Military leave shall be granted in accordance with statutory requirements.

  • Parental Leave Without Pay (a) Where an employee has or will have the actual care and custody of a new-born child (including the new-born child of a common-law partner), the employee shall, upon request, be granted parental leave without pay for a single period of up to thirty-seven (37) consecutive weeks in the fifty-two (52) week period beginning on the day on which the child is born or the day on which the child comes into the employee’s care.

  • Special Leave Without Pay Section 1. Employees may participate in a Special Leave Without Pay Program as established by the Hennepin County Board of Commissioners. The Special Leave Without Pay Program period is from date of County Board Approval through December 31, 2021.

  • Other Leaves Without Pay 10.10.1 Upon recommendation of the Superintendent and approval by the Board of Trustees, leave without compensation, increment, seniority, or tenure credit may be granted for a period of one school year for the following purposes: Peace Corps, care for a member of the immediate family who is ill, long-term illness of the bargaining unit member, service in an elected public office, or professional study or research.
