Employees who leave the bargaining unit on or after the effective date of this Agreement and return to a Center will begin a new period of seniority unless they return from a position within the Postal Service within one year from the date of leaving a Center.

Employees who are involuntarily reassigned outside of the bargaining unit pursuant to Article 40 and return to a bargaining unit position within a Center shall regain their previously held seniority at the time of their reassignment.
