Status of Students. It is understood and agreed by the parties that all student participants shall be considered students and not Agency staff. They shall not engage in patient care activities and shall not replace Agency staff except as may be necessary as part of their educational training and subject to any and all applicable laws. District shall be solely responsible for any remuneration, stipend, fringe benefit, or other similar payments to be made to District instructors, except as Agency may otherwise agree in writing. Students are not and shall not be deemed to be employees of Agency. However, nothing in this Agreement is intended to restrict the employment by Agency of students in any capacity for part-time work nor shall any provision in this Agreement be construed to apply to such part-time work.
Status of Students. Students shall at no time throughout this agreement be considered officers, employees, agents or volunteers of either the University or Learning Site.
Status of Students. During the period in which a Student is assigned to UCLA, the Student and the SCHOOL Instructor, if applicable, shall be subject to the direction and control of UCLA supervisors. It is expressly agreed and understood by UCLA and SCHOOL that Students are present at UCLA’s facilities to participate in activities and assignments that are of educational value to Students, and that are appropriate to the course and scope of SCHOOL’s Program. The parties acknowledge that the participating Students are not employees. Workers’ compensation coverage, if applicable, for the participating Students (and SCHOOL Instructors, if applicable) will be provided by SCHOOL. Students (and SCHOOL Instructors, if applicable) are not covered by UCLA’s workers’ compensation programs and are not covered by UCLA’s insurance programs. DISCRIMINATION – PROHIBITION. SCHOOL and UCLA agree not to discriminate in the selection or acceptance of any Student pursuant to this Agreement because of race, color, national origin, religion, sex, sexual orientation, mental or physical disability, age, veteran's status, medical condition (cancer-related) as defined in section 12926 of the California Government Code, ancestry, marital status, or citizenship, within the limits imposed by law or University policy.
Status of Students. All students participating in the Programs are learners. They shall not engage in patient care activities without supervision by Agency and District. Students shall not replace Agency’s staff, except as may be necessary for students’ experience.
Status of Students. The parties expressly understand and agree that the students enrolled in the Program are in attendance for educational purposes, and such students are not considered employees, officers, agents or volunteers of either Facility or University for any purpose, including, but not limited to, compensation for services, welfare and pension benefits, or workers’ compensation insurance. Students are, however, considered members of Facility’s “workforce” for purposes of HIPAA compliance.
Status of Students. The students assigned to the District shall not be considered employees of the District. As such, the District shall have no obligation to pay monetary compensation or benefits to the assigned students.
Status of Students. 1. While in the field, interns shall at all times be under the direct supervision of the preceptor.
2. Interns are subject to the authority, policies, and regulations of TRAINING CENTER. They are also subject, during their field internship, to the authority, policies, and regulations of the BERKELEY FIRE DEPARTMENT. In the event of any conflict between the two entities’ authority, policies, or regulations, those of the BERKELEY FIRE DEPARTMENT shall prevail.
3. Interns shall not be considered employees of the City of Berkeley.
4. Interns shall wear the required attire during their field internship, which is described in Attachment A hereto. A TRAINING CENTER nametag identifying the student shall be worn at all times.
5. Students shall obtain a Hepatitis B vaccination before beginning their field internship.
Status of Students. 5.1 During the period in which a Student is assigned to AFFILIATE, the Student shall be subject to the direction and control of AFFILIATE supervisors.
5.2 It is expressly agreed and understood by the AFFILIATE and UCLA EXTENSION that Students are present at AFFILIATE’s facilities to participate in clinical activities and assignments that are of educational value to Students, and that are appropriate to the course and scope of UCLA EXTENSION’s Program.
Status of Students. 7.1 During the period in which a Student is assigned to UCLA, the Student and the SCHOOL Instructor, if applicable, shall be subject to the direction and control of UCLA supervisors.
7.2 It is expressly agreed and understood by UCLA and SCHOOL that Students are present at UCLA’s facilities to participate in activities and assignments that are of educational value to Students, and that are appropriate to the course and scope of SCHOOL’s Program.
7.3 The parties acknowledge that the participating Students are not employees. Workers’ compensation coverage, if applicable, for the participating Students (and SCHOOL Instructors, if applicable) will be provided by SCHOOL. Students (and SCHOOL Instructors, if applicable) are not covered by UCLA’s workers’ compensation programs and are not covered by UCLA’s insurance programs.
Status of Students. Each party agrees that the Students will be in an unpaid learning situation and that the primary purpose of the Program is for the Students’ education. Students shall not replace or substitute for any of Site’s employees. Students shall not perform any of the duties normally performed by an employee of the facility except such duties as are a part of the Program and are performed under the direct supervision of Site supervisor. Students shall be deemed independent contractors and are not entitled to receive compensation for Activities performed hereunder. Students shall not be entitled to receive any employee benefits, including but not limited to health insurance, life insurance, disability insurance, retirement benefits, vacation or sick leave pay and other customary employee benefits.
