Statutory holidays and Remembrance Day. A full-time employee shall be paid at the rate of seven (7) hours basic pay for, or be given a day in lieu of, the following days: New Year’s Day Family Day Good Friday Easter Monday Victoria Day Canada Day Civic Holiday Labour Day Thanksgiving Day Christmas Day Boxing Day and any other day proclaimed as a statutory holiday by the Federal or Provincial Governments. An employee who wishes to take a holiday for Remembrance Day shall not have her request unreasonably denied. The Board shall ensure appropriate recognition of Remembrance Day in the workplace.

Such time off must be taken according to a schedule acceptable to the employee's Supervisor within thirty (30) days of the end of the pay period in which the overtime was worked.

  • Saturday Work A day worker required to work overtime on a Saturday shall be afforded at least four hours work or paid for four hours at the rate of time and one half for the first three hours and double time thereafter, except where the overtime is continuous with overtime commenced on the previous day.
