Substitute Pay For Teacher Assistants. When Teacher Assistants substitute for special education teachers they shall be paid eight dollars ($8.00) an hour for all hours in the substitute capacity in addition to their regular hourly rate; provided, however, if a substitute for the Teacher Assistant is not available and the Teacher Assistant substitutes for more than half (1/2) the teacher’s work day the Teacher Assistant will be paid sixty-four dollars ($64.00) in addition to the regular hourly rate. Substituting for a special education teacher shall be voluntary. Substituting for a teacher does not include exclusive supervision of students as required by Article 6.3.6.

Substitute Pay For Teacher Assistants. A. Effective July 1, 2006, any teacher assistant who is requested to substitute for a regular teacher, or any teacher assistant possessing a valid Registered Nurse license, who is requested to substitute for a regular school nurse will be compensated at the rate of forty-five ($45.00) dollars per day in addition to his/her daily rate of pay as a teacher assistant or the applicable daily rate established for a BOCES substitute teacher or school nurse, whichever is greater. Effective July 1, 2007, the rate will be increased to fifty-five ($55.00) dollars per day. Effective July 1, 2008, the rate will be increased to sixty ($60.00) dollars per day.

Any unused balance is forfeited and cannot be recovered by the employee.

All Education Assistants employed by the Board to assist teachers in carrying out their responsibilities and duties under the School Act and Regulations shall be assigned to classes and/or students by the Principal and shall be assigned specific duties by the teacher during the designated periods of time.

  • Dependent Care Assistance Plan An employee may designate an amount per calendar year, from earnings on which there will be no federal income tax withholding for dependent care assistance (as defined in Section 129 of the Internal Revenue Code as amended from time to time.)
