Summary of the Literature Review Sample Clauses

Summary of the Literature Review. ‌ In order to develop the Co-design and co-delivery protocol, a literature review has been undertaken. This includes academic publications and the grey literature. This has focused on previous reviews as well as guidance in the co-design/co- production/applied research field, to capture the lessons from a larger body of underlying theoretical and applied applications. The focus has been on the climate domain, though it has been extended to cover specific services (e.g. climate services) and general research. The studies are reviewed in detail in Appendix 1, with salient recommendations and guidance (for COACCH) identified. The literature review is summarized below.

Summary of the Literature Review. The literature review established a wide range of factors that have been associated with undergraduate student progression, including accommodation arrangements, financial issues, teaching and learning methods, stress and personality. The exact nature of these associations to dental students is far from clear and in most cases are very context specific. For example, dental schools vary widely in the makeup of their student bodies, such as number of students and the proportion of graduate-entry students. Such differences have the potential to influence findings, reducing the generalisability of the research. Unfortunately, many of the reviewed articles failed to specify such details, making assessment of the validity of their results difficult. Students’ academic performance is often used as an indicator of progression, though the literature review established that assessment of performance is a very complex area. There are numerous different forms of assessment used by medical and dental schools, with no one form being perfect. Factors such as the quality of the questions asked (for example the way in which they are constructed and the language used), the means of standard setting and the method of marking have all been described in the literature as having great relevance.
