TEACHING CONDITIONS. A. 5.1 Lockable space for storing confidential materials will be provided in each school. A copy of the teacher's editions of the basic texts used in each subject area he/she teaches will be provided for the teacher's individual use during his/her tenure in that school. Teaching stations shall be provided for all teachers. 5.2 The teacher workday shall be seven (7) hours and thirty (30) minutes including a duty-free lunch period of not less than thirty (30) minutes. This time does not include the transfer of students. On non-student lunch days, all teachers shall be entitled to a one (1) hour duty-free lunch period. Teachers shall not be under obligation required to supervise a spectator bus to athletic eventseat in the lunchroom. B. A. In elementary schools designated as L300 schools by FLDOE, an extra 15 minutes shall be added to the school day to provide the extra reading instruction required by law. Teachers working this extra time shall be paid at their hourly rate 5.3 Teachers will not be required allowed to drive busesuse tobacco in any form, electronic cigarettes, personal vaporizers, or any electronic nicotine delivery system on real or personal property owned or under the control of the Bay District School Board. This period shall not include time spent in transferring children to other supervisors. Every effort shall be made available to teachers for use in conducting school businesssee that the relief time is not scheduled during the same part of the day as the planning period. E. Parking facilities 5.7 It shall be provided for each the responsibility of the teacher to report, in writing, potentially unsafe or hazardous conditions to the immediate supervisor who will investigate the report with the teacher’s use. If an unsafe or hazardous condition exists, the immediate supervisor will take steps to correct the condition. The supervisor will respond in writing within seven (7) working days regarding disposition of the case. If no response is given within seven (7) working days, ABCE will contact the Deputy Superintendent. F. Beginning teachers 5.8 Teacher participation in extra-curricular activities shall be given special consideration in regard to number of preparations and class size. G. TEACHING CONDITIONS. A. The Board and the Association recognize that the availability of adequate school facilities and equipment for both students and teachers is necessary to ensure a high quality of education. They also acknowledge that the primary duty of teachers is to teach and that the organization of the school and the school day shall be directed at ensuring that the energy of the teacher is utilized to this end. B. The Board shall attempt to relieve teachers of clerical responsibilities, which have little relationship to classroom responsibilities and shall make available adequate typing, duplicating, stencil and mimeograph facilities and make a reasonable effort to provide clerical personnel to aid teachers in the preparation of instructional materials. C. Where special education classroom teachers are provided with a paraprofessional, they shall be given an opportunity to participate in the interviewing process. D. Teachers shall not be under obligation required to supervise a spectator bus collect and transmit money to athletic events. B. be used for other than educational purposes. No money shall be collected from students without the knowledge and approval of the building principal. G. Desk copies and teacher manuals shall be furnished to each teacher for each course he/she is teaching. Appropriate textbooks shall be furnished for each course which requires a text. The teacher shall exercise professional judgment and care in the use of materials provided under this section. TEACHING CONDITIONS. The parties recognize that the availability of optimum school facilities for both student and teacher is desirable to insure the high quality of education that is the goal of both the teacher and the Board. It is also acknowledged that the primary duty and responsibility of the teacher is to teach and that the organization of the school and the school day should be directed at insuring that the energy of the teacher is primarily utilized to this end. A. Teachers shall not be under obligation The Board recognizes that appropriate texts, library reference facilities, maps and globes, laboratory equipment, computers and appropriate software, audio visual equipment, art supplies, athletic equipment, music equipment and materials, current periodicals, standard texts and questionnaires and similar materials are the tools of the teaching profession. Administrators and teachers will confer from time to supervise a spectator bus time for the purpose of improving the selection and use of such educational tools. The Board will continue its efforts to athletic eventskeep the schools reasonably and properly equipped and maintained within available funds as determined by the Board of Education. B. Teachers may drive a regularly scheduled bus run, but such bus runs will not be required to drive busesa part of their regularly assigned duties. C. The Board shall make available in each school adequate restrooms school, a lounge and/or work study room for the teachers. When practical and possible, lavatory facilities for teacher use and at least one (1) room appropriately furnished, which shall be reserved, for the use as a faculty workroom. Parking Cafeteria facilities will be available to teachers during the regular student lunch periods. All teachers are required to pay the regular rates established for adult personnel. F. Adequate parking facilities shall be provided for each teacher’s use. F. Every effort shall be made by the Board to minimize these tasks. Standardized tests will not require be machine scored at school expense, except by written mutual consent of the teacher or teachers to report for work on days/hours school is called off due to road conditions or other causes. The District further recognizes its responsibility to maintain schools in a safe and sanitary condition and will consult with other responsible officials when necessary to achieve this end. Teachers and children shall not be under obligation to supervise a spectator bus to athletic events. B. Teachers will not be required to drive buseswork and study under unsafe or unsanitary conditions when so determined by such responsible officials or the school Superintendent. B. Existing telephone Telephone facilities shall be made available to teachers for teachers' use in conducting making calls within the attendance area for school business. Personal long distance calls may not be charged to school accounts. The personal use of cell phones during instructional time, unless used for emergencies, is prohibited. E. Parking facilities All teachers shall be provided for each teacher’s useaid in the supervision and safety of students in the school building and on the school grounds. F. Beginning Teachers are expected to exercise care in their use of school equipment. G. Teachers shall not leave a class unattended during the time instruction is normally scheduled, except in an emergency. The use of a teacher aide or student assistant does not satisfy the supervision requirement except during an emergency or a scheduled supervisory period assigned by the principal. H. All classroom teachers will provide a hard copy which contains general plans for one (1) week in advance. Duplicate copies of these plans must be given to the principal by non-tenured teachers. I. Lesson plans shall enable the substitute to conduct the class in a manner that will provide lesson continuity. Plans must be available for a substitute prior to teacher reporting time on any given day. J. When available, all teachers shall be given special consideration stationed in regard to number of preparations and the hallway at their classroom doorway between class sizechanges. G. TEACHING CONDITIONS. A. The teachers in these skill areas are to be under obligation considered regularly assigned teachers. The time spent by a spectator bus class of students receiving instruction from a specialist in the above areas may be used by elementary teachers for preparation, planning and conferences. Attempts will be made to athletic eventsschedule the time of special teachers with equity within each given building. B. Teachers will not be required to drive buses. C. The Board shall make available in each school adequate restrooms an appropriately furnished lounge and/or work space and a lavatory for teachers' use. Teachers The Board recognizes that appropriate texts, library reference facilities, maps and globes, laboratory equipment, audio-visual equipment, art supplies, athletic equipment, current periodicals, standard tests and questionnaires, chalkboards, blackout curtains, and similar materials are tools of the teacher profession. The Board agrees that the professional staff will not be required involved in selecting and recommending appropriate technological instructional tools and that every reasonable effort will be made to drive busesimplement the recommendations as presented through the various departments and committees. C. The Board shall make available in each school adequate restrooms building a restroom, lavatory facility and lavatory facilities for teacher use and at least one (1) room appropriately furnished, which shall be reserved, reserved for the use as a faculty workroomlounge and lunchroom. Long distance calls shall not be made on these telephones unless one of the following conditions exist: 1. The phone call is credited to the Teacher’s personal credit card number. 2. The telephone call is credited to the Teacher’s home phone number. 3. The charge for the telephone call is transferred to the person who is being called (collect call). 4. The phone call is for student/parent contact. E. Parking Adequate parking facilities shall be provided made available to teachers for each teacher’s usetheir use with teachers required to use designated areas. F. Beginning Notwithstanding their employment, teachers shall be given special consideration in regard entitled to number full rights of preparations citizenship and class sizeno religious or political activities of any teacher or the lack thereof shall be grounds for any discipline or discrimination with respect to the professional employment of such teacher. TEACHING CONDITIONS. A. Teachers It is acknowledged that the primary duty and responsibility of the bargaining unit member is to teach and the organization of the school and the school day should be directed at ensuring that the bargaining unit member is primarily utilized to this purpose. The Board agrees to continue its effort to keep class sizes at an acceptable number as dictated by the financial condition of the district, the building facilities available, the availability of qualified teachers and the best interest of the district as deemed administratively feasible. Any appreciable changes in past policy and practice relative to class size may be subject to the grievance procedure. C. For those bargaining unit members scheduled or authorized to travel between buildings, the Board shall reimburse mileage at the rate allowed by the Internal Revenue Service (IRS). These teachers shall be allowed sufficient time for commuting between buildings. This time shall be determined by the bargaining unit members involved and the administration at the beginning of each school year. This time shall not be under obligation to supervise a spectator bus to athletic eventsconsidered "breaktime". B. Teachers will not be required to drive buses. C. D. TEACHING CONDITIONS. A. Teachers The Board will provide support personnel, for the purpose of assisting teachers with completing necessary clerical tasks. There is no requirement on the number of personnel District wide or by building. Rather, a defined level of service shall not be under obligation to supervise a spectator bus to athletic eventsprovided. B. Teachers who have larger than normal equipment or supply inventories will receive voluntary/paid assistance with inventorying supplies/equipment arranged by the building principal. Teachers will receive assistance for duplication of teaching materials with a 24-hour turn- around time and similar support responsibilities. Requests for assistance with technology problems will be responded to within 24 hours. If the problem prevents a teacher from being able to perform his/her normal teaching duties, it will be resolved within twenty-four hours (not counting weekends and holidays). To ensure that these tasks are performed, each Spring building technology representatives will meet with the labor management committee to clarify procedures and as necessary during the school year to maintain the quality of this assistance. The DEA building representatives will explain procedures to building staff within the first week of school. Problems which are not resolved in a mutually agreeable manner will be required brought to drive busesthe attention of the technology director’s supervisor. Each building shall contain at least one teachers' room which shall be used exclusively by teachers or support personnel. The Board shall be responsible for equipping and maintaining these rooms in a comparable manner. C. The Board shall make available in each school adequate restrooms and lavatory facilities for teacher use and at least one (1) room appropriately furnished, which shall be reserved, for the use as a faculty workroom. Provision for such facilities Each classroom will be made equipped with a telephone programmed in such a way as to provide all future buildingsappropriate internal and external access. All facilities that accommodate after school activities shall have a telephone with a long-distance line for emergency calls. D. Programs external to the school community. Teachers who want to reserve the following facilities for September – August of the following school year must do so by June 15 of the preceding year. Requests after that date will be honored as received. Members in attendance at this meeting will be: CPA Director, Athletic Director, Community Education Director, music personnel, drama/forensic coach(es). At this meeting, dates for plays, athletic contests, banquets, concerts and second marking periods for card marking and record keepingperformances will be booked. Administration will properly enter these events into the District calendar. After May 15, additional requests will be honored in the order listed in Article V, Section L, 1-4 on an as- received basis. M. Principals of each building N. When appropriate a 504 Plan will be developed consistent with existing Federal law and EA representatives shall mutually agree to establish an appropriate and reasonable professional dress code for staffguidelines.

TEACHING CONDITIONS. A. 6.1 The parties recognize that the availability of optimum school facilities for both student and teacher is desirable to insure the high quality of education. Under normal circumstances, the Board will insure that the use of District facilities will be scheduled during the normal school day in a manner that give priority to K-12 instructional programs. It is also acknowledged that the primary duty and responsibility of the teacher is to teach and that the organization of the school and the school day should be directed toward insuring that both the competency and energy of the teacher are primarily utilized to this end. 6.2 The Board agrees to keep the schools reasonably and properly equipped with instructional materials and shall have such materials available at the opening of the school year except when unexpected conditions prevent compliance with this provision. Instructional materials used in the district shall reflect the multi-ethnic nature of our society and shall evidence sensitivity to prejudice, to stereotypes, to sexism, and to materials offensive to ethnic groups. Media centers shall be charged with the responsibility of seeking and maintaining material of this nature. Teachers shall participate in the selection of supplies, resource and instructional materials and tests. 6.3 While it is agreed that planning is an integral part of effective teaching, lesson plans shall not be routinely submitted for the perusal and attendant approval to any supervisor. Plans shall be available to the supervisor for planning and consultation upon request as well as in cases of teacher absences. 6.4 Security of school money shall be considered the Board's responsibility, and no teacher shall be required to keep any school funds in his/her desk, on his/her person, or in his/her possession. 6.5 All teachers require time, space and facilities to prepare materials and plan work. The Board shall provide in every school a teacher work area containing adequate equipment and facilities to aid in planning and preparation, including typewriter and duplicating machine. The work area shall be in addition to and separate from the faculty lounge facilities provided in each building. Telephone facilities shall be made available for reasonable use. Employees shall reimburse the Board for all personal toll calls. Employees shall report all toll calls on a form which will be provided by the Board. The principal is responsible for filing reports and including remittance for toll payments for non-school calls with the Business Office. 6.6 Properly maintained parking facilities shall be made available for school personnel during the school hours. School buildings will be cleaned on a scheduled basis and the responsibilities for said cleaning rests with the administration. The cleaning schedule of respective buildings will be posted in an appropriate location. 6.7 The Board shall provide: a. A separate desk and file cabinet for each teacher. b. Closet space for each teacher to store his/her coat, overshoes, and personal articles. c. Adequate storage in each classroom for instructional materials. d. Teacher edition copies, if available, exclusively for each teacher's use, of all texts used in the courses s/he is to teach. e. A dictionary in each classroom. f. A sufficient supply of paper, dittos, pencils, chalk, and other classroom materials for the conduct of instruction. g. Updated reference materials. h. A protective outer garment (xxxxx or shop coat) for teachers of special education, home economics, industrial arts, science, and art as a protection against excessive damage resulting from machinery, tools, materials used in their work or activities related to their work, if requested by the teacher. 6.8 All past practices regarding teaching hours shall remain in effect. The ratio of students to counselor will continue as in the past. 6.9 All substitute teachers employed by the Board shall meet the requirements of the Michigan Certification Code. When a day-to-day substitute is needed for up to five days in Adult and Community Education, preference will be given to those teachers already working within the absent teacher's particular program (School Based, Preschool, Summer School, Driver Education, Career Education), whose hours do not conflict. Each semester or at the beginning of the summer school and driver education program, as the case may be, the Administration shall prepare a list of those teachers who wish to substitute in their program and shall call upon them for substituting first. The offer of substitute work shall be done on an equitable basis. Teachers shall provide, except in cases of emergency, at least two (2) hours prior notification to the appropriate Adult and Community Education office when they are unable to report to work. 6.10 Teachers shall not be under obligation required to supervise perform tasks which endanger their health, safety or well being. The district will be in compliance with local, county, state, and federal statutes and codes. Within one hour of a spectator bus loss of electrical power, while students are in attendance, the administration will inform the staff of a plan of action. If necessary, school shall also be canceled in buildings without heat or water. In other instances, the Board shall determine when conditions warrant the closing of schools. All teachers are required to athletic events. B. report for duty at times when only a fraction of the school system may be closed down. In the event of an emergency when only some children are excused on a scheduled day of attendance, teachers will, when the condition of the building dictates, be reassigned to other buildings for the duration of the emergency. TEACHING CONDITIONS. A. The Board shall continue to maintain those faculty rooms in the buildings where they now exist. Should there be any renovation of buildings or new buildings built, teacher collaboration space shall be included in the renovated/new building. Teachers shall be provided an opportunity to provide input into the teacher collaboration space. B. The Board shall provide separate rest room facilities in each building for the exclusive use of the faculty. C. The teachers will be permitted to maintain vending machines in all faculty lounges and the profits from these machines will be placed in a separate activity fund. A committee of building teachers and the principal shall decide expenditures of these funds. D. The Board will provide adequate supplies, materials, and textbooks and coordinate the ordering of supplies and materials with curriculum. Teachers shall identify in writing to the building principal, the inadequacies of supplies, textbooks, and materials needed for their classrooms for the next school year prior to May 15, in order to allow the administration and Board time to budget for these items. Such request should include prioritization of and reasons for the request. The requisition shall be based on the administration's latest enrollment projections. If a teacher does not provide a written request by May 15, the administration and Board cannot guarantee that a teacher's request will be granted. Additional requisitions due to changes in enrollment may be made by the teacher throughout the year as necessary. A written response will be given for each and every written requisition concerning its final status. The response is to include items approved, items rejected and statement of justification for rejection as shown on the requisition form. For requests made prior to May 15, a written response will be made to the teacher no later than June 20. Other requests will receive a written response within ten (10) working days. E. The Rolling Hills Board of Education will provide adequate parking and lighting facilities for all teachers at their assigned buildings. F. Classroom interruptions are to be kept to a minimum. Specific announcement periods over public address systems shall be assigned and adhered to except in case of emergency. The administration shall arrange the work schedules of custodians and matrons to limit the conflict with the regular school day activities. G. Teachers shall have safe and healthful conditions under which to carry out their professional duties. H. Xxxxxxxx assistance may be provided to make routine entries and transfers on pupil records, attendance, parent notification and to help with the issuance of inventories of textbooks and supplies. School-wide testing programs shall utilize machine graded tests, if such tests are available in that form, unless otherwise requested by the teachers administering the tests. Every effort will be made by principals and supervisors to reduce the amount of paperwork required of teachers, so that the largest possible percentage of their time will be spent in actual planning and teaching. I. Teachers may not be required to supervise pupils outside of the regular instructional classroom within the work day except as follows: 1. Teachers may supervise hallways, in the immediate vicinity of their classroom. Only in those situations which cannot be rectified by room assignment shall a teacher be assigned duty in another section of the building. 2. Teachers shall work cooperatively with administration in rest room supervision. 3. The principal shall discuss with the teacher an assignment to supervise a study hall. 4. Teachers shall not be under obligation required to supervise a spectator bus to athletic events. B. Teachers will not children who are detained and assigned detention by other teachers after school, except in case of emergency. Any school that has after-school detention shall be required to drive buseshave a written plan, mutually developed and on file by October 15 of each year. C. The Board shall make available 5. Supplies provide special attention, assistance and equipment will be ordered on a timely basis so as guidance to be available when they are needed. If the supplies are not available four (4) weeks prior to their need, the teacher will advise the principal who will advise central office. Central office will make reasonable efforts to obtain said materials from another vendor. Defective supplies will be returned to central office for appropriate credit and replacementall new teachers. K. Subject A joint committee of Board and Association representatives shall be formed for the purpose of developing the duties, responsibilities, and procedures for a district-wide mentor program. The committee shall also set the compensation for mentor teachers. The committee will meet on a regular basis to develop a recommendation by January 1, 2002. Such recommendation shall be presented to the provisions of Board policy, teachers may obtain a key to and the outside entrance door Association for approval. Teachers shall be permitted to transport a pupil in his/her automobile within the scope of each building his/her employment upon completion of a parent consent form and EA representatives Superintendent approval, or in an emergency as identified by the bargaining unit member. The Board shall mutually agree assume liability in the aforementioned situations only. All other transportation of students shall be subject to establish an appropriate and reasonable professional dress code the individual teacher's liability. O. 1. The Board of Education shall work towards scheduling which will provide school time for staffthe purpose of Association and/or administration sponsored in-service faculty meetings. Such meetings shall address the improvement of county and/or district education.

It is also acknowledged that the primary duty and responsibility of the teacher is to teach and that the organization of the school and the school day should be directed at insuring that the energy of the teacher is primarily utilized to this end. A. Teachers shall Because the student-teacher ratio is an important aspect of an effective educational program, the Board and the P.T.S. agree that the ideal class size should not exceed twenty-five students per classroom, and that there should be under obligation one grade per classroom whenever possible. The Board, with input from the Superintendent and the P.T.S., will attempt to supervise a spectator bus provide the least disruptive teaching setting, to athletic eventsachieve this goal, within budgetary limits of the State’s funding. B. Teachers The Board shall provide, within budgetary limits, all necessary teaching supplies and similar materials that are the tools of the teaching profession. The Board, the Superintendent, and the P.T.S. will not be required confer from time to drive busestime for the purpose of improving the selection and the use of such educational tools. The Board agrees to keep the school reasonably and properly equipped and maintained, subject to financial limitations. C. The Board agrees that certain classes need adequate funds to provide for consumable materials and to acquire and maintain durable goods and equipment. Therefore, the Board shall provide within budgetary limits an adequate budget for these classes, to be spent as the teacher deems necessary, upon approval of the Superintendent. D. The Board will authorize applications for federal, state, and any other grant funds available for education, whenever possible. E. The Board shall make available in each school adequate restrooms and lavatory facilities for teacher use and at least one (1) room room, appropriately furnished, which shall be reserved, reserved for the use as a faculty workroom. TEACHING CONDITIONS. A. Teachers The employer shall not intentionally expose a teacher to unnecessary embarrassment or disparagement. When a teacher is reprimanded and/or criticized (if necessary), it shall be made with proper discretion with regard to the dignity of the teacher and the circumstances. Such criticisms and/or reprimands of a teacher, if the situation warrants it, shall not be under obligation to supervise a spectator bus to athletic eventsmade in the presence of other students or teachers. B. Teachers will The employer shall not be required engage or allow others to drive busesengage in harassment or discriminatory conduct which unreasonably interferes with an individual’s performance of professional or work responsibilities or with the orderly processes of education which creates a hostile, intimidating, abusive, offensive or oppressive environment; and shall make reasonable effort to assure that each individual is protected from such harassment or discrimination. C. Each teacher shall be provided with materials and equipment including usable chalkboard or dry erase board space as required in his/her daily teaching responsibilities and lockable storage space. Each teacher shall be provided a key to his/her classroom, if one is needed or requested. D. All teachers shall have a duty-free lunch period on the condition that a principal-faculty committee establishes an equitable duty schedule for all teachers that will provide supervision for students during lunch. In the event that a teacher does have lunch duty, the teacher will receive compensation time to match. E. The length of the teacher's professional day shall be 7.5 hours, unless reduced by the Superintendent or building principal. F. The Board shall make available in each school adequate restrooms restroom and lavatory facilities properly supplied exclusively for teacher adult use and when available at least one (1) room appropriately furnished, which properly ventilated shall be reserved, reserved for the use as a faculty workroom. Provision for such facilities will be made in all future buildings/lounge. D. Existing telephone facilities G. Each principal shall be responsible to see that there are adequate and satisfactory arrangements for teacher parking. H. Teacher participation in extra-curricular activities after normal school day (7.5 hours) shall be strictly voluntary. I. When school is not in session, a teacher shall be given access to the building when scheduled with the principal. J. Classrooms in which classes are being held shall be free of interruptions by maintenance and custodial workers except for emergencies as determined by the principal. K. A la Carte lunches will be made available to teachers for use in conducting school business. E. Parking facilities shall be provided for each teacher’s use. F. Beginning teachers shall be given special consideration in regard to number of preparations and class size. G. Work at athletic games outside of regular school hours shall be on a voluntary basis. H. The Board will not require teachers to report for work on days/hours school is called off due to road conditions or other causes. Should State statutes or accordance with pricing regulations change, the parties will comply with the new statute or regulations. Any required make up days or hours will be at no added cost to the District. I. The Board shall provide for each teacher a separate desk and a locked file cabinet, or secured storage space in each building to which they are assigned. J. Teachers will be provided supplies for their teaching assignments. Supplies and equipment will be ordered on a timely basis so as to be available when they are needed. If the supplies are not available four (4) weeks prior to their need, the teacher will advise the principal who will advise central office. Central office will make reasonable efforts to obtain said materials from another vendor. Defective supplies will be returned to central office for appropriate credit and replacement. K. Subject to the provisions of Board policy, teachers may obtain a key to the outside entrance door of the school the teacher is assigned to for use during the school yearSchool Food Services. L. Teachers in grades K-4 will be required to keep only those attendance records that are required by the State Department of Education and Florida Statutes. X. Xxxxxxxxxxx of a teacher's class by persons other than school administrative/supervisory personnel shall be provided two (2allowed only if the teacher agrees. N. When the Board provides aides not governed by federal guidelines, the principal, the teacher(s) half-day release times at to whom the end aide(s) is assigned, and the aide(s) shall jointly write the job description(s). O. The teacher shall maintain a reasonable degree of cleanliness and orderliness in the work area. P. The principal shall post work schedules of custodial staff. It shall be the responsibility of the first and second marking periods for card marking and record keepingteacher to notify the principal of any custodial problems. M. Principals of each building and EA representatives shall mutually agree to establish an appropriate and reasonable professional dress code Q. The district will pay for staffall costs associated with finger printing for teachers. New employees will pay for initial finger print screening.

TEACHING CONDITIONS. A. Teachers The Board recognizes that appropriate texts, library reference facilities, maps and globes, laboratory equipment, audio-visual equipment, art supplies, athletic equipment, current periodicals, standard tests and questionnaires, and similar materials are the tools of the teaching profession. The parties will confer from time to time for the purpose of improving the selection and use of such educational tools and once each year the individual teacher will be provided forms on which he should requisition supplies and/or equipment for use during the ensuing school year; the Board will provide educational tools to the degree which finances permit and their relevance to the promotion of real learning experience for the children. The Board shall not be under obligation provide a tentative instructional budget by June 1 of the preceding year and a final instructional budget by November 15 of the current school year to supervise each principal for their respective school, and the principal shall provide a spectator bus to athletic eventsbudget for each elementary teacher and each secondary school department head. B. Teachers will not be required to drive busesThe Board may enter into sub-contracting for vocational programs provided by organizations other than the parties of this Agreement. The Board shall further provide for Association involvement in addition or reduction of programs from planning through evaluation stages. C. The Whenever feasible, the Board shall make available in each school adequate restrooms restroom and lavatory facilities exclusively for teacher teachers’ use and at least one (1) room appropriately furnished, which shall be reserved, reserved for the use as a faculty workroomlounge. Teachers shall be made available informed of a telephone number they must call the previous evening prior to teachers 11 p.m. or before 6:00 a.m. for use 6-12 staff and before 7:00 a.m. for K-5 staff to report unavailability for work that day. Emergencies and/or extenuating circumstances will be taken into consideration. Once a teacher has reported unavailability, it shall be the responsibility of the Administration to arrange for a substitute teacher. When a teacher is absent from the classroom for the purpose of attending workshops or special meetings, a substitute will be placed in conducting school businessthe classroom by the Administration. E. Parking facilities shall When, in the judgement of the administrative officials authorized to make such decisions, hazardous weather conditions prevent the opening of school, teachers will not be provided for each teacher’s userequired to report to work. Notice of closing will be given through local radio stations at the earliest possible time. On such days teachers are requested to tune into local stations. If this should occur on a previously scheduled in-service day, the teachers may be requested to report. F. Beginning teachers shall Whenever the principal is absent from the building for more than 3 ½ hours of the teacher’s workday, a pre-appointed acting principal will be given special consideration in regard to number charge. The acting principal will be relieved of preparations classroom duties. The Administration office will be contacted in case of an emergency and class sizea decision rendered. G. Work All teachers are expected to prepare lesson plans. They may be periodically evaluated by the principal. This evaluation and/or discussion of the lesson plans will be held in private. In the event of a disagreement between the principal and the classroom teacher as to quality and adequacy of those lesson plans, the disagreement may be taken to the Superintendent. If the problem is not resolved at athletic games outside the Superintendent level, it will then be taken to the Board of regular school hours shall Education whose decision would be on a voluntary basisfinal. H. The Board will not require teachers to report for work on days/hours If an emergency (including weather related) occurs after the start of the school is called off due to road conditions or other causes. Should State statutes or regulations changeday, the parties will comply teachers of that school shall be permitted to leave only after approval has been given by the principal. The principal may meet with the new statute or regulations. Any required make up days or hours will be at no added cost to the Districtteachers a maximum of one (1) hour before they are excused. I. The Board shall provide for each teacher and the Association agree that it is not emotionally sound to attempt to conduct classes in a separate desk and a locked file cabinetphysically uncomfortable environment. The Board therefore, or secured storage space in each building agrees to which they are assignedmake every effort to maintain classroom temperature. J. Teachers will be provided supplies for their teaching assignments. Supplies and equipment will be ordered on a timely basis so as to be available when they are needed. If the supplies are not available four (4) weeks prior to their need, the teacher will advise the principal who will advise central office. Central office will make reasonable efforts to obtain said materials from another vendor. Defective supplies will be returned to central office for appropriate credit and replacement. K. Subject to the provisions of Board policy, teachers may obtain a key to the outside entrance door of the school the teacher is assigned to for use during the school year. L. Teachers in grades K-4 shall be provided two (2) half-day release times at the end of the first and second marking periods for card marking and record keeping. M. Principals of each building and EA representatives shall mutually agree to establish an appropriate and reasonable professional dress code for staff.

TEACHING CONDITIONS. A. When it is necessary to assign teachers to non-instructional supervisory duties, such assignments will be made after input from the teachers involved. 1. Teachers shall not be under obligation required to supervise a spectator bus to athletic eventsperform duties for teachers who are absent. B. Teachers The Board agrees to provide individual and adequate teaching stations for all teachers which include operable heating and air conditioning systems. 1. The Board further agrees to provide each school monies to be used for teaching supplies, both consumable and non-consumable. 2. In addition to individual teacher supply funds, the Board will not budget monies to provide departmental/grade level funds to purchase specialized materials and equipment. These monies are to be required to drive busesprovided in the individual school center budgets and will be administered by the building principal or designee. C. It is recognized that teachers must meet the individual needs of all students. Therefore, the Board agrees that teachers shall be provided the opportunity to share their input and recommendations in the selection of primary or supplemental materials in their grade level or content area. In addition, sufficient multi- level or multi-text materials will be provided to insure that each student has access to his or her own textbook during class. The selection of primary and supplemental materials shall be made in accordance with district policy and state law. 1. A copy of the teacher’s edition for all texts used in each course taught will be provided for each teacher of that course, when available from the publisher. 2. Teachers shall not be financially responsible for textbooks, supplies or pieces of equipment that are lost, stolen or destroyed by other persons unless that teacher is found negligent by the administration. Teachers are expected to exercise reasonable control, under the direction of the principal, over textbooks, supplies, and technology equipment. D. The Board shall agrees to make available in each school adequate office equipment and copying facilities to aid teachers in the preparation of instructional materials. Paper for reproducing sufficient copies will be provided. E. There shall continue to be a functioning instructional materials center (library) in each school staffed in accordance to need as established by the Board. F. The Board shall provide procedures that allow full opportunity for all teachers to be involved in such activities as: reviewing and evaluation of books and other instructional materials; participation in comprehensive planning; accomplishment of other curriculum instruction tasks involving review, analysis, and/or evaluation. All teachers shall be required, when assigned by their principal, to participate in such activities. The final recommendations of each committee shall be duplicated and distributed to all schools affected and to the Board. G. The Board shall provide in each school: restrooms and lavatory facilities for teacher use and at least a minimum of one (1) room appropriately furnished, which faculty lounge for teacher use. The faculty lounge shall be reservedprimarily for use of faculty, for the use as a faculty workroomstaff, and administrators. Provision for such facilities will be made in all future buildings. D. Existing telephone facilities No students shall be made available to teachers allowed in the faculty lounge during the normal teacher work hours for use that particular school, unless the lounge is needed by the principal in conducting normal school business. E. Parking facilities shall be provided for each teacher’s use. F. Beginning teachers shall be given special consideration in regard to number of preparations and class size. G. Work at athletic games outside of regular school hours shall be on a voluntary basisprograms. H. The School Board will not require teachers provide in each school lounge a telephone, restricted to report local calls only, for work on days/hours the purpose of parent-teacher conferencing and other school is called off due to road conditions or other causes. Should State statutes or regulations change, the parties will comply with the new statute or regulations. Any required make up days or hours will be at no added cost to the Districtrelated communications. I. N. Classrooms in which classes are being held shall be free of unnecessary interruptions by custodial staff or intercommunication systems. O. It is the desire and goal of the Board to maintain the school year. L. Teachers in grades K-4 shall be provided two (2) half-day release times at the end of the first and second marking periods for card marking and record keeping. M. Principals of each building and EA representatives shall mutually agree to establish an appropriate and reasonable professional dress code for facilities adequately with other than instructional staff.

TEACHING CONDITIONS. A. Teachers shall not The parties recognize that optimum school facilities are desirable for both students and teachers to insure high quality education, which is the goal of both parties. The primary duty and responsibility of the teacher is to teach, and the organization of the school day should be under obligation directed toward insuring that the energy of the teacher is utilized to supervise a spectator bus this end. Academic freedom, subject to athletic eventsaccepted standards of professional responsibility, will be guaranteed to all teachers. B. Teachers The Board recognizes that appropriate texts, library reference facilities, maps and globes, laboratory equipment, audio-visual equipment, art supplies, athletic equipment, current periodicals, standard tests and questionnaires, and similar materials are the tools of the teaching profession. The parties will not be required confer from time to drive busestime for the purpose of improving the selection and use of such educational tools. C. The Board shall agrees to make available in each school adequate restrooms typing and duplicating facilities and clerical personnel to aid teachers in the preparation of instructional material. THE BOARD SHALL PROVIDE: 1. Each teacher in the school system with a lockable drawer space large enough to file exams and papers, 2. Suitable space for each teacher to store coats, overshoes and personal articles, 3. Adequate storage space in each room for materials, 4. Copies, exclusively for the teacher to use, of all texts in each course he/she is to teach, 5. A dictionary in every classroom, 6. Adequate attendance books, paper, pencils, pens, chalk, erasers and other materials required in daily teaching, 7. Work areas shall be provided for teachers during conference periods. D. The Board shall make available rest room and lavatory facilities exclusively for teacher use. Also, there shall be one room, appropriately furnished with desk and chair and facilities for use and at least one (1) room appropriately furnishedof an electric coffee maker if desired, which shall be reserved, reserved for the use as a faculty workroomlounge. Provision for such facilities will shall be made in all future buildings. The Association will maintain adequate professional decorum in rooms designated as faculty lounges. D. Existing telephone E. Telephone facilities shall be made available to teachers for use in conducting school business. Teachers should limit their personal calls, and the school must be reimbursed for all personal long distance calls. E. Parking F. Adequate parking facilities shall be provided and identified exclusively for each teacher’s teacher use. F. Beginning teachers shall be given special consideration in regard to number of preparations and class size. G. Work at athletic games outside of regular school hours shall be on a voluntary basis. H. The Board will not require teachers to report for work on days/hours school is called off due to road conditions or other causes. Should State statutes or regulations change, the parties will comply with the new statute or regulations. Any required make up days or hours will be at no added cost to the District. I. The Board shall provide personnel to police these facilities at least once each morning and once each afternoon and shall take immediate steps to remedy any violations. The Association will furnish identification. G. Elementary teachers may use any released time accorded them by dismissal of their students or by assignment of a special teacher to their room for professional planning, conferences with parents or other staff or other work related duties. H. Recognizing that efficient use of employed teachers is of the utmost importance to the district and will most benefit the students, there shall be no double assignments (“double assignment” is defined as teaching two different courses during the same class period) of teachers unless team teaching is being used or with teacher agreement. I. At the conclusion of each school year, the teacher may present a separate desk written evaluation of his/her program and a locked file cabinet, or secured storage space in each building to which they are assignedrecommendations for improvement. J. General announcements to students will be limited to three times per day except in cases of emergency. The times for the announcements will be given to the teachers at the first meeting of the year. K. Teachers will receive in his/her opening day packet and/or upon hire the board’s policy on acceptable uses of Internet/Intranet agreement. The Internet/Intranet or other electronic devices shall not be used in a negative fashion for evaluation purposes of a teacher. The Board agrees to provide appropriate, regularly updated virus detection software on all of the Board’s computers. The software shall function in an automatic, passive fashion. Teachers will be provided supplies for their teaching assignments. Supplies and equipment will be ordered on a timely basis so as to be available when they are needed. If given notice of any changes and/or policies regarding the supplies are not available four (4) weeks Internet/Intranet prior to their need, implementation. TEACHING CONDITIONS. A. The Board and the Association recognize that the availability of adequate school facilities and equipment for both students and teachers is necessary to ensure a high quality of education. They also acknowledge that the primary duty of teachers is to teach and that the organization of the school and the school day shall be directed at ensuring that the energy of the teacher is utilized to this end. B. The Board shall attempt to relieve teachers of clerical responsibilities, which have little relationship to classroom responsibilities and shall make available adequate typing, duplicating, stencil and mimeograph facilities and make a reasonable effort to provide clerical personnel to aid teachers in the preparation of instructional materials. C. Where special education classroom teachers are provided with a paraprofessional, they shall be given an opportunity to participate in the interviewing process. D. Teachers shall not be under obligation required to supervise a spectator bus collect and transmit money to athletic events. B. be used for other than educational purposes. Teachers will shall not be required to drive busestabulate money, but shall exercise reasonable care for the accountability of such money. C. E. Class sponsors and club supervisors shall be responsible for the supervision of the accounts that pertain to their activities. Teachers shall not be responsible for the actual bookkeeping procedures, but the teachers have a definite responsibility to know how this money is expended and to approve each "order to draw." F. The Board and the Association recognize that much money is handled by classes, clubs and other school activities. To improve the supervision of these accounts, all accounts shall have use of the internal accounting procedures. No money shall be collected from students without the knowledge and approval of the building principal. X. Xxxx copies and teacher manuals shall be furnished to each teacher for each course he/she is teaching. Appropriate textbooks shall be furnished for each course which requires a text. The teacher shall exercise professional judgment and care in the use of materials provided under this section. The Board shall make available in each school adequate restrooms provide instructional and lavatory facilities for teacher use and at least one (1) room appropriately furnished, which shall be reserved, for the use as a faculty workroom. Provision for such facilities will be made in all future buildings. D. Existing telephone facilities shall be made available to teachers for use in conducting school business. E. Parking facilities shall be provided for each teacher’s use. F. Beginning teachers shall be given special consideration in regard to number of preparations and class size. G. In each building, when possible, a work room shall be provided for the preparation of instructional materials. Word processing and printing facilities shall be present in all workrooms. In each building, when possible, supplies and other equipment which is available for the preparation of instructional materials shall be centered in the workroom. J. The Board shall provide maintain an adequate communication system which will permit classroom teachers to communicate with the school office within each respective building. Teachers The Board will continue its efforts to make available in each school appropriate facilities, equipment, material, clerical personnel to implement the educational program of the district. The term appropriate shall not be under obligation to supervise a spectator bus to athletic eventsdetermined by the Board based on its financial ability. B. Teachers will not be required to drive buses. C. The Board shall make available in each school adequate restrooms a work-study room for the teachers. When practicable and possible, lavatory facilities exclusively for teacher use and at least one (1) room appropriately furnished, which shall be reserved, for the use as a faculty workroom. Provision for such facilities will also be made in all future buildingsavailable. D. C. Existing telephone facilities shall be made available to teachers for their reasonable use. Adequate parking facilities shall be made available to teachers. D. The Board recognizes that appropriate texts, library reference facilities, maps and globes, laboratory equipment, audio-visual equipment, art supplies, athletic equipment, current periodicals, standard tests and questionnaires, and similar materials are the tools of the teaching profession. Further, efforts shall be continued to seek and use in conducting school businesstextbooks and supplementary reading materials which contain the contribution of minority groups to history, scientific and social development of the United States. The parties will confer from time to time for the purpose of improving the selection and use of such educational tools and the Board undertakes promptly to consider all joint recommendations thereon made by its representative and the Association. The Board agrees at all times to keep the schools as well equipped and maintained as is financially possible. E. Parking facilities shall The goals of professional development in St. Xxxxx are to maintain and improve teaching performance, increase student learning, align curriculum with district, and/or building school improvement plans, and/or the implementation of a teacher IDP. The scheduling, subject matter, and expectations of professional development will be provided for each teacher’s usedecided upon collaboratively by the Association or its designee and the District. F. Beginning teachers shall be given special consideration If a building meeting is necessary on a records day, one meeting may occur no longer than one hour in regard to number of preparations and class sizelength. G. Work An individual teacher will not be expected or required by the Board to accept a student teacher. H. Parent teacher conference days will be established as part of the district calendar. Building school improvement teams shall have input into the general schedule with one evening conference per term with ½ day off compensation time per evening. Additional evenings may be negotiated by the association and the administration with additional compensatory time given to that level. An effort will be made to schedule “common” conference days and compensatory time. In addition, an effort will be made to avoid scheduling extra-curricular activities at athletic games the same time as the evening conferences. Release time in excess of conference hours shall be used for parent communication outside of regular scheduled conferences and/or meetings outside of the school hours day. I. When a building is without heat, or experiences plumbing or electrical problems, the safety and comfort of children will be the first priority in determining dismissal of school. If the electrical, heating, or plumbing problem cannot be repaired within a reasonable period of time, school will be dismissed. J. Teachers are encouraged to interpret the program of the schools to the community in ways, which will improve the public's understanding of purposes and procedures and encourage its involvement and support. K. The Board will provide school building keys and ID Badges necessary to the normal function of the teacher, provided such keys and ID Badges shall be turned in upon the termination of the teacher's employment and/or upon completion of the school year. The employee shall not incur any costs for ID Badges that need to be replaced due to normal wear and tear, limited to a two year cycle. Lost ID Badges shall be replaced at a cost to the employee not to exceed the cost of replacement. If the teacher is using the building after normal hours, it will be the responsibility of the teacher to secure areas of the building that he/she used and/or notify administration of any problem(s). L. Whenever conditions beyond the control of school authorities such as severe storms, fires, health conditions, etc. occur, the district will follow current state law as it pertains to making up scheduled pupil instructional time. All make-up time shall be without additional compensation. If school is cancelled during the exams/records day, the next available day(s) will be used for exams/records day. M. Each bargaining unit member in his/her first three (3) years in the classroom shall be assigned a mentor teacher. The mentor teacher will be available to provide professional support, instruction and guidance. The purpose of the mentor assignment is to provide a peer who can offer assistance, resources and information in a non-threatening collegial fashion. 1. Participation as a mentor shall be on a voluntary volunteer basis. A mentor teacher shall be assigned to only (1) mentee at a time, unless otherwise mutually agreed. • The mentor teacher assignment shall be for one (1) year, subject to review by the mentor teacher, mentee and the building principal after ninety (90) working days. The Board shall provide separate rest room facilities in each building for the exclusive use of the faculty. C. The teachers will be permitted to maintain vending machines in all faculty lounges and the profits from these machines will be placed in a separate activity fund. A committee of building teachers and the principal shall decide expenditures of these funds. D. The Board will provide adequate supplies, materials, and textbooks and coordinate the ordering of supplies and materials with curriculum. Teachers shall identify in writing to the building principal, the inadequacies of supplies, textbooks, and materials needed for their classrooms for the next school year prior to May 15, in order to allow the administration and Board time to budget for these items. Such request should include prioritization of and reasons for the request. The requisition shall be based on the administration's latest enrollment projections. If a teacher does not provide a written request by May 15, the administration and Board cannot guarantee that a teacher's request will be granted. Additional requisitions due to changes in enrollment may be made by the teacher throughout the year as necessary. A written response will be given for each and every written requisition concerning its final status. The response is to include items approved, items rejected and statement of justification for rejection as shown on the requisition form. For requests made prior to May 15, a written response will be made to the teacher no later than June 20. Other requests will receive a written response within ten (10) working days. E. The Rolling Hills Board of Education will provide adequate parking and lighting facilities for all teachers at their assigned buildings. F. Classroom interruptions are to be kept to a minimum. Specific announcement periods over public address systems shall be assigned and adhered to except in case of emergency. The administration shall arrange the work schedules of custodians and matrons to limit the conflict with the regular school day activities. G. Teachers shall have safe and healthful conditions under which to carry out their professional duties. H. Clerical assistance may be provided to make routine entries and transfers on pupil records, attendance, parent notification and to help with the issuance of inventories of textbooks and supplies. School-wide testing programs shall utilize machine graded tests, if such tests are available in that form, unless otherwise requested by the teachers administering the tests. Every effort will be made by principals and supervisors to reduce the amount of paperwork required of teachers, so that the largest possible percentage of their time will be spent in actual planning and teaching. I. Teachers may not be required to supervise pupils outside of the regular instructional classroom within the work day except as follows: 1. Teachers may supervise hallways, in the immediate vicinity of their classroom. Only in those situations which cannot be rectified by room assignment shall a teacher be assigned duty in another section of the building. 2. Teachers shall work cooperatively with administration in rest room supervision. 3. The principal shall discuss with the teacher an assignment to supervise a study hall. 4. Teachers shall not be under obligation required to supervise a spectator bus to athletic events. B. Teachers will not children who are detained and assigned detention by other teachers after school, except in case of emergency. Any school that has after-school detention shall be required to drive buseshave a written plan, mutually developed and on file by October 15 of each year. C. The Board shall make available 5. K. Subject A joint committee of Board and Association representatives shall be formed for the purpose of developing the duties, responsibilities, and procedures for a district-wide mentor program. The committee shall also set the compensation for mentor teachers. The committee will meet on a regular basis to develop a recommendation by January 1, 2002. Such recommendation shall be presented to the provisions of Board policy, teachers may obtain a key to and the outside entrance door Association for approval. Modification in class size, scheduling and curriculum design may be made to accommodate the shifting demands that mainstreaming may create. E. To promote the equitable distribution of responsibility for pupils among teachers, when more than one classroom placement may be available to accommodate the pupil’s schedule, a pupil who has been certified through the IEP (or current term) will be placed in the appropriate classroom, as determined by the IEP Team. F. The Board recognizes that appropriate textbooks, library reference facilities, maps and globes, laboratory equipment, audio-visual equipment, art supplies, current periodicals, standard tests and questionnaires, and similar materials are the tools of the teaching profession. The parties and/or their assigned members will confer from time to time for the purpose of improving this selection, with the attempt to implement these as the funds are available. G. The Board shall make available in each school adequate restrooms a restroom and lavatory facilities for teacher use teachers, and at least one (1) room appropriately furnished, which shall be reserved, reserved for the use as a faculty workroom. Provision for such facilities will be made in all future buildings. D. Existing telephone facilities shall be made available to teachers for use in conducting school business. E. I. Every bargaining unit employee employed by the Board must have a valid teaching certificate, or applicable professional license. This certificate must be filed with the Superintendent. Failure to file the certificate or loss of certification may result in loss of employment. J. All teachers are covered by Michigan Worker’s Compensation law. Accidents and injuries are to be reported to the employee’s supervisor immediately. Employer liability shall be in accordance with the law. K. To relieve teachers of as many non-teaching duties as possible, the Board agrees to engage as many aides as possible as determined by the Board. This will specifically and definitely include supervision of recess, and lunch. Further, in case of the absence of any aide, if a substitute is available a substitute will be provided to fulfill said duties. L. The Board will not require provide textbooks which are reasonably requested by teachers to report the extent finances are available. M. The Board will make reasonable effort to provide within the financial limits of the District the following: 1. TEACHING CONDITIONS. A. Teachers The Employer realizes that an appropriate pupil- teacher ratio should exist in a school system. Employer also recognizes that this appropriate ratio can fluctuate depending upon size of the classroom, Teacher aide time, time for preparation and subject matter being taught. The Employer shall strive, whenever possible, to reduce the pupil-teacher ratio. In most cases, a pupil-teacher ratio should not be under obligation exceed 30 to supervise 1 per class hour. This guideline does not apply to band, choir or physical education classes. When it appears necessary to deviate from the pupil-teacher ratio as described above, the Teacher and principal will work together to find a spectator bus to athletic eventssolution. B. Teachers The Employer recognizes that appropriate texts, library facilities, maps and globes, laboratory equipment, audio-visual equipment, art supplies, athletic equipment, current periodicals, standard tests and questionnaires, and similar materials, such as lined paper, plain paper, and pencils, are the tools of the teaching profession. The parties will not be required confer from time to drive busestime for the purpose of improving the selection and use of such educational tools and the Employer undertakes to promptly consider recommendations made by the parties. The Employer agrees at all times to keep the schools reasonably and properly equipped and maintained. C. The Board Employer shall make available available, if possible, in each school adequate restrooms lunchroom, restroom, and lavatory facilities exclusively for teacher staff use and at least one (1) room a room, appropriately furnishedequipped, which shall be reserved, reserved for the use as a faculty workroom. Provision for such facilities will be made in all future buildingslounge. D. Work at athletic games outside of regular school hours Independent Development Plan Philosophy An Individual Development Plan shall be on established for each probationary Teacher or tenure Teachers with less than satisfactory evaluation. It shall be the intent of this plan to provide a voluntary basis. H. guide by which the Teacher may develop their strength and improve in areas of need. There will, however, be a section in the I.D.P. of suggested or regulationsneeded areas of improvement which may become part of the evaluation process. Any required make up days or hours The mentor Teacher role shall never be as an evaluator for the school, but rather as a facilitator in aiding the Teacher in fulfilling the I.D.P. recommendations and obligations, and also in providing professional development opportunities. It is anticipated that much of the I.D.P. will be at no added cost to Teacher stated needs or desires in the Districtarea of professional development and assistance. I. The Board shall provide for each teacher a separate desk and a locked file cabinet, or secured storage space in each building to which they are assigned. J. Teachers will be provided supplies for their teaching assignments. Supplies and equipment will be ordered on a timely basis so as to be available when they are needed. Maximum student instructional contact time shall be twenty-seven (27) hours per week. Instructional staff starting and ending times shall be recommended to the Principal by the faculty of each school. The Principal shall make the final decision based on the needs of each school or assignment. Instructional staff participation in extracurricular activities outside the normal working day, for which no additional compensation is paid, shall be strictly voluntary. E. Exceptions to the workday on occasion may be made for unusual circumstances with the consent of the Principal or immediate supervisor. F. The Board shall make available in each school adequate restrooms agrees to continue to provide a faculty work area and lavatory separate designated and marked restroom facilities for teacher use as currently provided, and at least one (1) room appropriately furnished, in those schools where such facilities already exist for the use of instructional staff. All newly constructed schools shall provide a faculty workroom and separate faculty restroom facilities. G. Instructional staff are expected to make themselves available for student and parent conferences which shall be reservedduring the normal workday, for except when parents cannot meet during the use as a faculty workroomschool day. Provision for such facilities will be made in all future buildings. D. Existing telephone facilities shall be made available to teachers for use in conducting school business. E. If an elementary school principal chooses to host “parent conference weeks”, the principal shall communicate to identified instructional staff that they have the option of completing parent conferences (equivalent to 6.25 hours) outside the workday in lieu of the subsequent instructional staff workday. If a secondary school principal chooses to host parent and community engagement events outside of the teacher’s workday, the principal shall communicate to identified instructional staff that they have the option of participating in these family engagement events in lieu of the equivalent number of hours (up to 6.25 hours) on a voluntary basisthe subsequent instructional staff workday. H. The Board will not require teachers to report It is understood and accepted that instructional staff attendance at school affiliated evening meetings is desirable and beneficial. During pre-planning and post- planning, no faculty meetings shall provide for each teacher a separate desk and a locked file cabinet, or secured storage space in each building to which they are assignedrun beyond the normal working day. J. Teachers will During pre-planning, instructional staff shall have at least the equivalent of one and a half days to work, uninterrupted by meetings of any kind, in their classrooms to prepare for the start of school with students. This time shall be provided supplies for their teaching assignments. Supplies and equipment will be ordered on a timely basis so as to be available when they are needed. If the supplies are not available four (4) weeks prior to their need, the teacher will advise the principal who will advise central office. Central office will make reasonable efforts to obtain said materials from another vendor. Defective supplies will be returned to central office for appropriate credit and replacementorganized into three half-day segments of planning time. K. Subject When school is not in session, instructional staff shall be given access to the provisions of Board policy, teachers may obtain a key to building by arranging such access with the outside entrance door of the school the teacher is assigned to for use during the school yearprincipal. L. Teachers The Association and the Board wholeheartedly support parent and community involvement in grades K-4 shall schools. Classroom visits, other than by Flagler Schools employees, will be provided two (2) half-day release times at announced through email with the end of anticipated date and time. When the first visit is by a parent(s), it will be scheduled through administration and second marking periods for card marking and record keepingthe instructional staff. M. Both parties agree that it is necessary for interruptions to be made from time to time during the instructional periods for the efficient operation of the school. Principals will be advised to keep interruptions from maintenance, custodial, and intercom to a minimum as is feasible. N. Department heads/lead instructional staff shall be defined as instructional staff appointed by the principal. The principal may appoint department heads/lead instructional staff for each subject/grade level. O. All high school instructional staff shall have a planning/preparation period during the workday which shall not be less than fifty (50) continuous minutes. All middle school instructional staff shall have a planning/preparation period during the workday which shall not be less than forty-five (45) continuous minutes. In addition, instructional staff shall be guaranteed an additional five (5) minutes of each building planning/preparation time during the instructional staff workday. All elementary instructional staff shall have a planning/preparation time during the student day which shall not be less than forty-five (45) continuous minutes with an additional five (5) minutes for transitions for a total of fifty (50) continuous minutes. In addition, instructional staff shall be guaranteed an additional ten (10) minutes of planning/preparation time during the instructional staff workday. An instructional staff may choose to waive their planning in accordance with Article XX Section K. Instructional staff who do not have a roster of students for consistent instructional contact are not entitled to a planning period and EA representatives are ineligible for additional compensation as defined in Article XXV, Section K. These employees shall mutually agree work with their administration/supervisors to establish a flexible work schedule conducive to the expectations of their work duties. P. Flexible time is defined as the altering of the normal work schedule. Employees are entitled to one hundred fifty (150) minutes of flexible time per month during non-instructional time (i.e., before and after school, during lunch and planning). Prior notice of when flexible time will be taken must be provided to administration along with make-up dates/times. Unless prior written notice is provided to administration, an appropriate employee’s absence from work shall not be counted as flexible time. Any amount of flexible time used by an instructional staff shall be made up within a two-week timeframe. The phrase “after school” shall be defined as when the first group of students is dismissed from class, not including the dismissal of students that may require earlier dismissal due to special needs. Reasons for use of flex shall not be required. Q. Instructional staff shall have adequate access to telephone facilities to ensure safety and reasonable professional dress code parent contact. Efforts will be made to afford privacy to the employee for staffschool related calls. Instructional staff shall not be required to use personal cell phones or electronic devices for school related purposes. R. At times, instructional staff may be required to attend meetings during planning/preparation time. Instructional staff may be required to attend up to six

TEACHING CONDITIONS. A. Teachers shall not The Board agrees to keep the schools equipped and maintained; this includes adequate provision of attendance books, paper, duplicating materials and equipment, chalk, erasers, dictionaries, and other such material and equipment required in the daily teaching responsibilities. The Board agrees to provide significant instruction in the areas of physical education, art, music, reading and library skills in each elementary school in the district. The teachers in these skill areas are to be under obligation considered regularly assigned teachers. Further, these teachers are to supervise be considered an integral part of the educational program. The time spent by a spectator bus class of students receiving instruction from a specialist in the above areas may be used by elementary teachers for preparation, planning and conferences. Attempts will be made to athletic eventsschedule the time of special teachers with equity within each given building. B. Teachers will not be required to drive buses. C. The Board shall make available in each school adequate restrooms an appropriately furnished lounge and/or work space and a lavatory for teachers' use. Provisions for separate lunch facilities along with a furnished lounge and/or work space and a lavatory for teacher teachers' use and at least one (1) room appropriately furnished, which shall be reserved, for the use as a faculty workroom. Provision for such facilities will be made in all future buildingsbuildings on a basis proportional to the number of teachers in each building. D. Existing telephone facilities C. At the Secondary level, a separate desk stipend of $1,750 per semester shall be paid for large group instruction for a minimum of 25 students over the class load limit of 189 with a cap of 50 students over 214. *Exceptions to the Class Load Limit are vocal and a locked file cabinetinstrumental music, or secured storage space in each building to which they are assignedphysical education, and study halls. J. Teachers will be provided supplies for their teaching assignments. Supplies and equipment will be ordered on c. TEACHING CONDITIONS. A. Teachers The Association agrees that although the primary responsibility of the instructional staff is concerned with the classroom, the responsibility of supervising students at all times is necessary. Auxiliary personnel will be utilized to perform non- instructional duties (i.e. clerical, such as entering transfer grades into Skyward for new students, filing/organizing CUME folders, etc.) as much as possible. In the event that it is necessary to assign instructional staff a non-instructional duty, it shall not be under obligation to supervise on a spectator bus to athletic eventsfair and equitable basis. B. Teachers will Instructional staff shall have a duty-free lunch period of at least thirty (30) minutes. Instructional staff shall not be required to drive busesperform supervisory duties during their duty-free lunch period. C. The Board workday shall consist of seven (7) hours, fifteen (15) minutes, with the times being set by the Principal or immediate supervisor according to the needs of each school or assignment with the approval of the Superintendent. Maximum student instructional contact time shall be twenty-seven (27) hours per week. Instructional staff starting and ending times shall be recommended to the Principal by the faculty of each school. The Principal shall make available in the final decision based on the needs of each school adequate restrooms or assignment. Instructional staff participation in extracurricular activities outside the normal working day, for which no additional compensation is paid, shall be strictly voluntary. D. Exceptions to the workday on occasion may be made for unusual circumstances with the consent of the Principal or immediate supervisor. E. The Board agrees to continue to provide a faculty work area and lavatory separate designated and marked restroom facilities for teacher use as currently provided, and at least one (1) room appropriately furnished, in those schools where such facilities already exist for the use of instructional staff. All newly constructed schools shall provide a faculty workroom and separate faculty restroom facilities. F. Instructional staff are expected to make themselves available for student and parent conferences which shall be reservedduring the normal workday, for except when parents cannot meet during the use as a faculty workroomschool day. Provision for such facilities will be made in all future buildings. D. Existing telephone facilities shall be made available to teachers for use in conducting school business. E. Parking facilities shall be provided for each teacher’s use. F. Beginning teachers shall be given special consideration in regard to number of preparations and class size. G. If an elementary school principal chooses to host “parent conference weeks”, the principal shall communicate to instructional staff that they have the option of completing parent conferences (equivalent to 6.25 hours) outside the workday in lieu of the subsequent instructional staff workday. G. It is understood and accepted that instructional staff attendance at school affiliated evening meetings is desirable and beneficial. Except for illness or other emergencies, instructional staff will be expected to attend up to (2) such meetings each year where parents visit classrooms and/or confer with instructional staff. Each meeting shall last no longer than one and one half hour. H. The Board will not require teachers to report for work on days/hours school is called off due to road conditions or other causes. All elementary instructional staff shall have a planning/preparation time during the student day which shall not be less than forty-five (45) continuous minutes with an additional five (5) minutes for transitions for a total of fifty (50) continuous minutes. In addition, instructional staff shall be guaranteed an additional ten (10) minutes of planning/preparation time during the instructional staff workday. An instructional staff may choose to waive their planning in accordance with Article XX Section K. N. Flexible time is defined as the altering of the normal work schedule. Employees are entitled to one hundred fifty (150) minutes of flexible time per month during non-instructional time (i.e., before and EA representatives after school, during lunch and planning). Prior notice of when flexible time will be taken must be provided to administration along with make-up dates/times. Unless prior written notice is provided to administration, an employee’s absence from work shall mutually agree not be counted as flexible time. Any amount of flexible time used by an instructional staff shall be made up within a two-week timeframe. The phrase “after school” shall be defined as when the first group of students is dismissed from class, not including the dismissal of students that may require earlier dismissal due to establish an appropriate special needs. Reasons for use of flex shall not be required. O. Instructional staff shall have adequate access to telephone facilities to ensure safety and reasonable professional dress code parent contact. Efforts will be made to afford privacy to the employee for staffschool related calls. Instructional staff shall not be required to use personal cell phones or electronic devices for school related purposes. P. At times, instructional staff may be required to attend meetings during planning/preparation time. Instructional staff may be required to attend up to six

TEACHING CONDITIONS. A. When practicable and possible, lavatory facilities exclusively for teacher use and at least one (1) room appropriately furnished, which shall be reserved, for the use as a faculty workroom. Provision for such facilities will also be made in all future buildingsavailable. D. C. Existing telephone facilities shall be made available to teachers for their reasonable use. Adequate parking facilities shall be made available to teachers. D. The Board recognizes that appropriate texts, library reference facilities, maps and globes, laboratory equipment, audio-visual equipment, art supplies, athletic equipment, current periodicals, standard tests and questionnaires, and similar materials are the tools of the teaching profession. Further, efforts shall be continued to seek and use in conducting school businesstextbooks and supplementary reading materials which contain the contribution of minority groups to history, scientific and social development of the United States. The parties will confer from time to time for the purpose of improving the selection and use of such educational tools and the Board undertakes promptly to consider all joint recommendations thereon made by its representative and the Association. The Board agrees at all times to keep the schools as well equipped and maintained as is financially possible. E. Parking facilities shall The goals of professional development in St. Xxxxx are to maintain and improve teaching performance, increase student learning, align curriculum with district, and/or building school improvement plans, and/or the implementation of a teacher IDP. The scheduling, subject matter, and expectations of professional development will be provided for each teacher’s usedecided upon collaboratively by the Association or its designee and the District. F. Beginning teachers shall be given special consideration If a building meeting is necessary on a records day, one meeting may occur no longer than one hour in regard to number of preparations and class sizelength. G. Work An individual teacher will not be expected or required by the Board to accept a student teacher. H. Parent teacher conference days will be established as part of the district calendar. Building school improvement teams shall have input into the general schedule and format with one evening conference per term with ½ day off compensation time per evening. Additional evenings may be negotiated by the association and the administration with additional compensatory time given to that level. An effort will be made to schedule “common” conference days and compensatory time. In addition, an effort will be made to avoid scheduling extra-curricular activities at athletic games the same time as the evening conferences. Release time in excess of conference hours shall be used for parent communication outside of regular scheduled conferences and/or meetings outside of the school hours day. I. When a building is without heat, or experiences plumbing or electrical problems, the safety and comfort of children will be the first priority in determining dismissal of school. If the electrical, heating, or plumbing problem cannot be repaired within a reasonable period of time, school will be dismissed. J. Teachers are encouraged to interpret the program of the schools to the community in ways, which will improve the public's understanding of purposes and procedures and encourage its involvement and support. K. The Board will provide school building keys and ID Badges necessary to the normal function of the teacher, provided such keys and ID Badges shall be turned in upon the termination of the teacher's employment and/or upon completion of the school year. The employee shall not incur any costs for ID Badges that need to be replaced due to normal wear and tear, limited to a two year cycle. Lost ID Badges shall be replaced at a cost to the employee not to exceed the cost of replacement. If the teacher is using the building after normal hours, it will be the responsibility of the teacher to secure areas of the building that he/she used and/or notify administration of any problem(s). L. Whenever conditions beyond the control of school authorities such as severe storms, fires, health conditions, etc. occur, the district will follow current state law as it pertains to making up scheduled pupil instructional time. All make-up time shall be without additional compensation. If school is cancelled during the exams/records day, the next available day(s) will be used for exams/records day. M. Each bargaining unit member in his/her first three (3) years in the classroom shall be assigned a mentor teacher. The mentor teacher will be available to provide professional support, instruction and guidance. The purpose of the mentor assignment is to provide a peer who can offer assistance, resources and information in a non-threatening collegial fashion. 1. Participation as a mentor shall be on a voluntary volunteer basis. H. . • The Board mentor position will not require teachers be first offered to report for work on days/hours school is called off due to road conditions a current bargaining unit member with at least five (5) successful years of teaching completed and an evaluation rating of effective or other causeshighly effective. A mentor teacher shall be assigned to only (1) mentee at a time, unless otherwise mutually agreed. • The mentor teacher assignment shall be for one (1) year, subject to review by the mentor teacher, xxxxxx and the building principal after xxxxxx (90) working days. The appointment may be renewed in succeeding years. • Should either the mentor teacher of the mentee present cause to dissolve the relationship subsequent to the initial six (6) months, representatives of the parties will comply meet with the new statute or regulationsmentor teacher and the mentee to determine an appropriate course of action. 2. The Board shall provide separate rest room facilities in each building for the exclusive use of the faculty. C. The teachers will be permitted to maintain vending machines in all faculty lounges and the profits from these machines will be placed in a separate activity fund. A committee of building teachers and the principal shall decide expenditures of these funds. D. The Board will provide adequate supplies, materials, and textbooks and coordinate the ordering of supplies and materials with curriculum. Teachers shall identify in writing to the building principal, the inadequacies of supplies, textbooks, and materials needed for their classrooms for the next school year prior to May 15, in order to allow the administration and Board time to budget for these items. Such request should include prioritization of and reasons for the request. The requisition shall be based on the administration's latest enrollment projections. If a teacher does not provide a written request by May 15, the administration and Board cannot guarantee that a teacher's request will be granted. Additional requisitions due to changes in enrollment may be made by the teacher throughout the year as necessary. A written response will be given for each and every written requisition concerning its final status. The response is to include items approved, items rejected and statement of justification for rejection as shown on the requisition form. For requests made prior to May 15, a written response will be made to the teacher no later than June 20. Other requests will receive a written response within ten (10) working days. E. The Rolling Hills Board of Education will provide adequate parking and lighting facilities for all teachers at their assigned buildings. F. Classroom interruptions are to be kept to a minimum. Specific announcement periods over public address systems shall be assigned and adhered to except in case of emergency. The administration shall arrange the work schedules of custodians and matrons to limit the conflict with the regular school day activities. G. Teachers shall have safe and healthful conditions under which to carry out their professional duties. X. Xxxxxxxx assistance may be provided to make routine entries and transfers on pupil records, attendance, parent notification and to help with the issuance of inventories of textbooks and supplies. School-wide testing programs shall utilize machine graded tests, if such tests are available in that form, unless otherwise requested by the teachers administering the tests. Every effort will be made by principals and supervisors to reduce the amount of paperwork required of teachers, so that the largest possible percentage of their time will be spent in actual planning and teaching. I. Teachers may not be required to supervise pupils outside of the regular instructional classroom within the work day except as follows: 1. Teachers may supervise hallways, in the immediate vicinity of their classroom. Only in those situations which cannot be rectified by room assignment shall a teacher be assigned duty in another section of the building. 2. Teachers shall work cooperatively with administration in rest room supervision. 3. The principal shall discuss with the teacher an assignment to supervise a study hall. 4. Teachers shall not be under obligation required to supervise a spectator bus to athletic events. B. Teachers will not children who are detained and assigned detention by other teachers after school, except in case of emergency. K. Subject A joint committee of Board and Association representatives shall be formed for the purpose of developing the duties, responsibilities, and procedures for a district-wide mentor program. The committee shall also set the compensation for mentor teachers. The committee will meet on a regular basis to develop a recommendation by January 1, 2002. Such recommendation shall be presented to the provisions of Board policy, teachers may obtain a key to and the outside entrance door Association for approval. The make-up of the school the teacher is assigned to for use during the school year. L. Teachers in grades K-4 committee shall be provided three (3) teachers appointed by the Association president and two (2) half-day release times at administrators appointed by the end Superintendent. Teachers shall be permitted to transport a pupil in his/her automobile within the scope of each building his/her employment upon completion of a parent consent form and EA representatives Superintendent approval, or in an emergency as identified by the bargaining unit member. The Board shall mutually agree assume liability in the aforementioned situations only. All other transportation of students shall be subject to establish an appropriate and reasonable professional dress code the individual teacher's liability. O. 1. The Board of Education shall work towards scheduling which will provide school time for staffthe purpose of Association and/or administration sponsored in-service faculty meetings. Such meetings shall address the improvement of county and/or district education.

Employer also recognizes that this appropriate ratio can fluctuate depending upon size of the classroom, Teacher aide time, time for preparation and subject matter being taught. The Employer shall strive, whenever possible, to reduce the pupil-teacher ratio. In most cases, a pupil-teacher ratio should not be under obligation exceed 30 to supervise 1 per class hour. This guideline does not apply to band, choir or physical education classes. When it appears necessary to deviate from the pupil-teacher ratio as described above, the Teacher and principal will work together to find a spectator bus to athletic eventssolution. B. Teachers The Employer recognizes that appropriate texts, library facilities, maps and globes, laboratory equipment, computer and audio-visual equipment, art supplies, athletic equipment, current periodicals, standard tests and questionnaires, and similar materials, such as lined paper, plain paper, and pencils, are the tools of the teaching profession. The parties will not be required confer from time to drive busestime for the purpose of improving the selection and use of such educational tools and the Employer undertakes to promptly consider recommendations made by the parties. The Employer agrees at all times to keep the schools reasonably and properly equipped and maintained. C. The Board Employer shall make available available, if possible, in each school adequate restrooms lunchroom, restroom, and lavatory facilities exclusively for teacher staff use and at least one (1) room a room, appropriately furnishedequipped, which shall be reserved, reserved for the use as a faculty workroom. TEACHING CONDITIONS. A. 6.1 The parties recognize that the availability of optimum school facilities for both student and teacher is desirable to insure the high quality of education. Under normal circumstances, the Board will insure that the use of District facilities will be scheduled during the normal school day in a manner that gives priority to K-12 instructional programs. It is also acknowledged that the primary duty and responsibility of the teacher is to teach and that the organization of the school and the school day should be directed toward insuring that both the competency and energy of the teacher are primarily utilized to this end. 6.2 The Board agrees to keep the schools reasonably and properly equipped with instructional materials and shall have such materials available at the opening of the school year except when unexpected conditions prevent compliance with this provision. Instructional materials used in the district shall reflect the multi-ethnic nature of our society and shall evidence sensitivity to prejudice, to stereotypes, to sexism, and to materials offensive to ethnic groups. Media centers shall be charged with the responsibility of seeking and maintaining material of this nature. Teachers shall participate in the selection of supplies, resource and instructional materials and tests. 6.3 While it is agreed that planning is an integral part of effective teaching, lesson plans shall not be routinely submitted for the perusal and attendant approval to any supervisor. Plans shall be available to the supervisor for planning and consultation upon request as well as in cases of teacher absences. 6.4 Security of school money shall be considered the Board's responsibility, and no teacher shall be required to keep any school funds in his/her desk, on his/her person, or in his/her possession. 6.5 All teachers require time, space and facilities to prepare materials and plan work. The Board shall provide in every school a teacher work area containing adequate equipment and facilities to aid in planning and preparation. The work area shall be in addition to and separate from the faculty lounge facilities provided in each building. Telephone facilities shall be made available for reasonable use. 6.6 Properly maintained parking facilities shall be made available for school personnel during the school hours. School buildings will be cleaned on a scheduled basis and the responsibilities for said cleaning rests with the administration. The cleaning schedule of respective buildings will be posted in an appropriate location. 6.7 The Board shall provide: a. A separate desk and file cabinet for each teacher. b. Closet space for each teacher to store his/her coat and personal articles. c. Adequate storage in each classroom for instructional materials. d. Teacher edition copies, if available, exclusively for each teacher's use, of all texts used in the courses s/he is to teach. e. A sufficient supply of paper and other classroom materials. f. Updated reference materials. 6.8 All past practices regarding teaching hours shall remain in effect. The ratio of students to counselor shall not exceed the W-WEA ratio. 6.9 All substitute teachers employed by the Board shall meet the requirements of the Michigan Certification Code. When a day-to-day substitute is needed for up to five days in Adult and Early Childhood Education, preference will be given to those teachers already working within the absent teacher's particular program, whose hours do not conflict. Teachers shall provide, except in cases of emergency, at least two (2) hours prior notification to the appropriate Adult and Early Childhood Education office when they are unable to report to work. 6.10 Teachers shall not be under obligation required to supervise perform tasks which endanger their health, safety or well being. The district will be in compliance with local, county, state, and federal statutes and codes. Within one hour of a spectator bus loss of electrical power, while students are in attendance, the administration will inform the staff of a plan of action. If necessary, school shall also be canceled in buildings without heat or water. In other instances, the Board shall determine when conditions warrant the closing of schools. Provision for such facilities will be made in all future buildings. D. Existing telephone facilities shall be made available to teachers for use in conducting school business. E. Parking facilities shall be provided for each teacher’s use. F. Beginning teachers shall be given special consideration in regard to number of preparations and class size. G. Work at athletic games outside of regular school hours shall be on a voluntary basis. H. The Board Teachers will not require teachers be required to report for work on days/hours substitute when their school is called off closed down due to road conditions or other causes. Should State statutes or regulations change, the parties will comply with the new statute or regulations. Any required make up days or hours will be at no added cost to the Districtan emergency. I. The Board shall provide for each teacher a separate desk and a locked file cabinet, or secured storage space in each building to which they are assigned. J. Teachers will be provided supplies for their teaching assignments. Supplies and equipment will be ordered on a timely basis so as to be available when they are needed. If the supplies are not available four (4) weeks prior to their need, the teacher will advise the principal who will advise central office. Central office will make reasonable efforts to obtain said materials from another vendor. Defective supplies will be returned to central office for appropriate credit and replacement. K. Subject to the provisions of Board policy, teachers may obtain a key to the outside entrance door of the school the teacher is assigned to for use during the school year. L. Teachers in grades K-4 shall be provided two (2) half-day release times at the end of the first and second marking periods for card marking and record keeping. M. Principals of each building and EA representatives shall mutually agree to establish an appropriate and reasonable professional dress code for staff.

Suitable space for each teacher to store coats, overshoes and personal articles, 3. Adequate storage space in each room for materials, 4. Copies, exclusively for the teacher to use, of all texts in each course he/she is to teach, 5. A dictionary in every classroom, 6 Adequate attendance books, paper, pencils, pens, chalk, erasers and other materials required in daily teaching, 7 Work areas shall be provided for teachers during conference periods. D. The Board shall make available rest room and lavatory facilities exclusively for teacher use. Also, there shall be one room, appropriately furnished with desk and chair and facilities for use and at least one (1) room appropriately furnishedof an electric coffee maker if desired, which shall be reserved, reserved for the use as a faculty workroomlounge. Provision for such facilities will shall be made in all future buildings. The Association will maintain adequate professional decorum in rooms designated as faculty lounges. D. Existing telephone E. Telephone facilities shall be made available to teachers for use in conducting school business. Teachers should limit their personal calls, and the school must be reimbursed for all personal long distance calls. E. Parking F. The Board shall provide personnel to police these facilities at least once each morning and once each afternoon and shall take immediate steps to remedy any violations. Elementary teachers may use, any released time accorded them by dismissal of their students or by assignment of a special teacher to their room for professional planning, and conferences with parents or other staff or other work related duties. H. Recognizing that efficient use of employed teachers is of the utmost importance to the district and will most benefit the students, there shall be no double assignments. (“double assignment” is defined as teaching two different courses during the same class period) of teachers unless team teaching is being used or with teacher agreement. I. At the conclusion of each school year, the teacher may present a separate desk written evaluation of his/her program and a locked file cabinet, or secured storage space in each building to which they are assignedrecommendations for improvement. J. General announcements to students will be limited to three times per day except in cases of emergency. The times for the announcements will be given to the teachers at the first meeting of the year. K. Teachers will receive in his/her opening day packet and/or upon hire the board’s policy on acceptable uses of Internet/Intranet agreement. The Internet/Intranet or other electronic devices shall not be used in a negative fashion for evaluation purposes of a teacher. The Board agrees to provide appropriate, regularly, updated virus detection software on all of the Board’s computers. The software shall function in an automatic, passive fashion. Teachers will be provided supplies for their teaching assignments. Supplies and equipment will be ordered on a timely basis so as to be available when they are needed. If given notice of any changes and/or policies regarding the supplies are not available four (4) weeks Internet/Intranet prior to their need, implementation. Such space will be scheduled and posted by the building principal, prior to special service personnel entering the building to meet with students. 3. Faculty work areas shall make continue to be made available to the staff which contain duplicating equipment, and supplies to aid teachers in preparation of instructional materials. 4. Clerical personnel shall also continue to aid teachers as arranged between principal and staff. 5. The Board will provide, in each school adequate restrooms and lavatory school: a. Lunchroom facilities for teacher use and at least one (1) the staff. b. A room appropriately furnished, which shall to be reserved, for the use used as a faculty workroom. Provision for such facilities will staff lounge, the room to be made in all future buildingsappropriately furnished and ventilated by a fan. D. Existing c. Staff restrooms which do not open directly on the staff lounge or work area. 6. Private telephone facilities shall be made available to teachers for use in conducting school businesstheir reasonable use. Likewise, the Board agrees to keep the schools properly equipped and maintained. 8. Upon the request of the staff in each building, vending machines will be installed in the staff lounge. The proceeds shall be provided for placed in an internal revolving account fund, separate in each teacher’s usebuilding. The funds may be used at the discretion of the staff in each building. F. Beginning teachers shall be given special consideration in regard to number of preparations and class size. G. Work at athletic games outside of regular school hours shall be on a voluntary basis. H. The Board shall make every effort to provide for and maintain adequate off-street parking facilities at each teacher a separate desk building, and a locked file cabinet, or secured storage space in each building adequate access from the parking lot to which they are assignedthe building. J. 10. Teachers will not be provided supplies for their teaching assignmentsrequired to work under unsafe or hazardous conditions, as determined by the immediate supervisor. Supplies and equipment will be ordered on a timely basis so as to be available when they are needed. It is further understood that secondary teachers who substitute a full class period will be paid for appropriate credit a minimum of one (1) clock hour. For substitute payment during block scheduling, refer to Appendix J.5. Such assignments will be rotated among teachers available during a particular conference period. The payment set forth in this section will also apply when a teacher is providing in-person supervision on her/his conference period for a course taught by a virtual or remote means, but the teacher does not have primary responsibility for lesson planning, instructional delivery, and replacementgrading for the course, and that assignment is not part of any teacher’s normal or permanent assignment. Provision for such facilities will be made in all future buildingslounges. D. Existing telephone Telephone facilities shall be made available to teachers for teachers' use in conducting making calls within the attendance area for school business. Personal long distance calls may not be charged to school accounts. The personal use of cell phones during instructional time, unless used for emergencies, is prohibited. E. Parking facilities All teachers shall be provided for each teacher’s useaid in the supervision and safety of students in the school building and on the school grounds. F. Beginning Teachers are expected to exercise care in their use of school equipment. G. Teachers shall not leave a class unattended during the time instruction is normally scheduled, except in an emergency. The use of a teacher aide or student assistant does not satisfy the supervision requirement except during an emergency or a scheduled supervisory period assigned by the principal. H. Under normal circumstances, the Board will ensure that the use of District facilities will be scheduled during the normal school day in a manner that gives priority to Pre K-12 instructional programs. It is also acknowledged that the primary duty and responsibility of the teacher is to teach and that the organization of the school and the school day should be directed toward ensuring that both the competency and energy of the teacher are primarily utilized to this end. 6.2 The Board agrees to keep the schools reasonably and properly equipped with instructional materials and shall have such materials available at the opening of the school year except when unexpected conditions prevent compliance with this provision. Instructional materials used in the district shall reflect the multi-ethnic nature of our society and shall evidence sensitivity to prejudice, to stereotypes, to sexism, and to materials offensive to ethnic groups. Media centers shall be charged with the responsibility of seeking and maintaining material of this nature. Teachers shall participate in the selection of supplies, resource and instructional materials and tests. 6.3 While it is agreed that planning is an integral part of effective teaching, lesson plans shall not be routinely submitted for the perusal and attendant approval to any supervisor. Plans shall be available to the supervisor for planning and consultation upon request as well as in cases of teacher absences. 6.4 Security of school money shall be considered the Board's responsibility, and no teacher shall be required to keep any school funds in his/her desk, on his/her person, or in his/her possession. 6.5 All teachers require time, space and facilities to prepare materials and plan work. The Board shall provide in every school a teacher work area containing adequate equipment and facilities to aid in planning and preparation. The work area shall be in addition to and separate from the faculty lounge facilities provided in each building. Telephone facilities shall be made available for reasonable use. 6.6 Properly maintained parking facilities shall be made available for school personnel during the school hours. School buildings will be cleaned on a scheduled basis and the responsibilities for said cleaning rests with the administration. The cleaning schedule of respective buildings will be posted in an appropriate location. 6.7 The Board shall provide: a. A file cabinet for each teacher. b. Closet space for each teacher to store his/her coat and personal articles. c. Adequate storage in each classroom for instructional materials. d. Teacher edition copies, if available, exclusively for each teacher's use, of all texts used in the courses s/he is to teach. e. A sufficient supply of paper and other classroom materials. f. Updated reference materials. 6.8 All past practices regarding teaching hours shall remain in effect. 6.9 The Board agrees all substitute teacher shall meet the requirements of the program grantee. Teachers shall provide, except in cases of emergency, at least two (2) hours prior notification to the office when they are unable to report to work. 6.10 Teachers shall not be under obligation required to supervise perform tasks which endanger their health, safety or well-being. The district will be in compliance with local, county, state, and federal statutes and codes. Within one hour of a spectator bus loss of electrical power, while students are in attendance, the administration will inform the staff of a plan of action. If necessary, school shall also be canceled in buildings without heat or water. In other instances, the Board shall determine when conditions warrant the closing of schools. All teachers are required to athletic events. B. report for duty at times when only a fraction of the school system may be closed down. In the event of an emergency when only some children are excused on a scheduled day of attendance, teachers will, when the condition of the building dictates, be reassigned to other buildings for the duration of the emergency. Teachers will not be required to drive buses. C. The Board shall make available in each school adequate restrooms and lavatory facilities search for teacher use and at least one (1) room appropriately furnished, which shall be reserved, for the use as a faculty workroomexplosives. Provision for such facilities will be made in all future buildings. D. Existing telephone facilities shall be made available to teachers for use in conducting school business. E. Parking facilities shall be provided for each teacher’s use. F. Beginning teachers shall be given special consideration in regard to number of preparations and class size. G. Work at athletic games outside of regular school hours shall be on a voluntary basis. H. The Board Teachers will not require teachers be required to report for work on days/hours substitute when their school is called off closed down due to road conditions or other causes. Should State statutes or regulations change, the parties will comply with the new statute or regulations. Any required make up days or hours will be at no added cost to the Districtan emergency. I. The Board shall provide for each teacher a separate desk and a locked file cabinet, or secured storage space in each building to which they are assigned. J. Teachers will be provided supplies for their teaching assignments. Supplies and equipment will be ordered on a timely basis so as to be available when they are needed. If the supplies are not available four (4) weeks prior to their need, the teacher will advise the principal who will advise central office. Central office will make reasonable efforts to obtain said materials from another vendor. Defective supplies will be returned to central office for appropriate credit and replacement. K. Subject to the provisions of Board policy, teachers may obtain a key to the outside entrance door of the school the teacher is assigned to for use during the school year. L. Teachers in grades K-4 shall be provided two (2) half-day release times at the end of the first and second marking periods for card marking and record keeping. M. Principals of each building and EA representatives shall mutually agree to establish an appropriate and reasonable professional dress code for staff.

TEACHING CONDITIONS. A. Teachers Section 1: The District shall not promptly meet with affected staff and fully advise them regarding the history and status of all current or prospective planning activities relating to the implementation of the Least Restrictive Environment (LRE) concept in the District, including Medically Fragile, Special Education and Special Needs Students. Whether such planning has commenced or not, whenever such planning activities occur, the District shall assure that affected staff shall be under obligation to supervise a spectator bus to athletic eventsconsulted in any planning process involving the District. B. Teachers will not be required to drive buses. C. Section 2: The Board shall make available engage adult aides in the elementary and middle schools to assist in the supervision of children on the playground and in the lunch room, do clerical work and to perform paraprofessional classroom duties. After assignment to classroom work by the building administrator, as required in Article VIII, Class Size, the aide shall do those paraprofessional duties as assigned by the teacher. Section 3: The Board shall provide a faculty lounge and restroom in each school adequate restrooms and lavatory facilities for teacher use and at least one (1) room appropriately furnished, which shall be reserved, building for the use as a faculty workroom. Provision for such facilities will be made in all future buildingsof school personnel. D. Existing telephone Section 4: Telephone facilities shall be made available to teachers for their use in conducting connection with parent/guardian communications and other school business. E. Parking Section 5: Off-street parking facilities shall be provided made available to teachers for each teacher’s their use. F. Beginning Section 6: Each K-12 teacher shall be issued a key to his/her individual classroom and an exterior door key fob to the building(s) they are assigned. If the teacher fails to turn in this key and fob when they cease to be employed by the district, a ($20.00) dollar charge shall be deducted from the teacher's pay. Community Education teachers shall be given special consideration in regard to number of preparations issued keys and class size. G. Work at athletic games outside of regular school hours shall be on a voluntary basis. H. The Board will not require key fobs as possible and appropriate, based upon their assignment site(s). When possible and practical, teachers to report for work on days/hours school is called off due to road conditions or other causes. Should State statutes or regulations change, the parties will comply with the new statute or regulations. Any required make up days or hours will be at no added cost to the District. I. The Board shall provide for each teacher issued a separate desk and a locked file cabinet, or secured storage space classroom master key in each building to which they are assigned. J. Teachers will be provided supplies for their teaching assignments. Supplies and equipment will be ordered on a timely basis so as to be available when they are needed. If the supplies are not available four (4) weeks prior to their need, the teacher will advise the principal who will advise central office. Central office will make reasonable efforts to obtain said materials from another vendor. Defective supplies will be returned to central office for appropriate credit and replacement. K. Subject to the provisions lieu of Board policy, teachers may obtain a key to the outside entrance door of the school the their individual classrooms. Section 7: A traveling teacher is defined as a teacher who is assigned to for use daily teaching duties in multiple district buildings during the regular school year. L. Teachers in grades K-4 day. The principals or administrator of each building involved with a traveling teacher shall provide said teacher with a schedule. The traveling teacher will be provided two (2) half-day release times given a mileage reimbursement for traveling by vehicle between buildings during the regular school day. The mileage rate will be equivalent to the IRS standard mileage rate for business miles driven. In order to receive a mileage reimbursement, the traveling teacher will be responsible for submitting a completed Mileage Form at the end of each pay period for the first and second marking periods for card marking and record keepingmileage traveled during that pay period. M. Principals Section 8: With respect to elementary student supervision: Elementary teachers should be at their classroom doors three (3) minutes before the tardy bell rings, which is the time student instructional time begins. This student “supervision” time will not increase during the life of each building and EA representatives shall mutually agree to establish an appropriate and reasonable professional dress code for staffthe Agreement.
