F. In the event an employee is required to serve on jury duty, such employee will have deducted from his/her salary the amount of money which will have been paid him/her for his/her service.
G. The Superintendent, at his/her sole discretion, may grant time to attend professional meetings, conferences, and visitations. The Board will bear the full cost of workshops, conferences, and conventions attended, provided prior approval of the Superintendentcost is acquired. The costs shall include tuition, travel, room and board.

Up to five (5) working days at any one time shall be granted to members in the event of the death of a memberteacher’s mother, father, sister, brother, spouse, child, xxxxxxxxxx, *grandparent, or any other member of the immediate household. Up to 3 days for employees father-in-law, mother- in-law, son-in- in-law, daughter-in-law, parent, father-in-law, mother-in-law, brother, sister, brother-in-law, sister-in-law, grandparent*aunt, *uncle, niece or any person with whom the member has made his/her home, nephew. Serious illness means an illness, subject to advance notice to injury, impairment or physical or mental condition which requires: D Inpatient care in a hospital, hospice, or residential medical faculty; or D Continuing medical treatment or continuing medical supervision by a health care provider; or D illness or injury of an acute nature and approval sudden onset which requires that immediate attention and care be provided until the crisis has passed.
f. Time necessary for personnel called into temporary active duty of any unit of the SuperintendentU.S. Reserves or the State National Guard, provided such obligations cannot be filled on days when school is not in session. A teacher shall be paid his or her regular pay in addition to any pay which he or she receives from the State or Federal Government.
4g. Up to two (2) days each for five (5) representatives of the Association to attend conferences and/or conventions of state and national affiliate organizations. A member copy of the agenda and a written report shall also be granted a reasonable amount of bereavement time with full pay for the purpose of travel in cases where the funeral is out of state. Such time off is subject submitted to the approval Superintendent within one (1) week of the Assistant Superintendent to whom the member is reportableconference or convention.

Determinations of the Superintendent concerning the number of such paid leaves and concerning whether such leaves are job- related, brothershall be rendered as a value judgment in the exercise of the Superintendent’s managerial discretion. Any rejection shall be submitted in writing to said employee with reasons stated.
D. In accordance with N.J.S.A. 18A:30-in-2, all employees governed by this Agreement who are steadily employed by the Board of Education or who are protected by tenure in their office, position, or employment under the provisions of Title 18A or any other law, sister-in-lawexcept persons in the classified service of the civil service under Title II, grandparentCivil Service, or shall be allowed sick leave with full pay for ten (10) days in any person school year.

Such time off is subject to the approval of the Assistant Superintendent report to whom the member is reportablehis/her immediate supervisor to perform his/her mid-day and/or afternoon runs.

In , provided he attends the case of the death of a near relative, defined as first cousin, uncle, aunt, niece funeral or nephew, there shall be no deduction from personal leave entitlement of up to three (3) days, subject to advance notice to and approval of the Superintendentother suitable observance.
4. A member shall also be granted a reasonable amount of bereavement time with full pay for the purpose of travel in cases where the funeral is out of state. Such time off is subject to the approval of the Assistant Superintendent to whom the member is reportable.
5. Any other leave of absence granted by the Board may be without pay.
6. No leave of absence absence, with pay or without pay, shall be granted due to the requirements of a second job.
7. Professional leave for such purposes as attending meetings, seminars and visiting other schools may be granted.
85. If a member an employee is subpoenaed for jury service by a court Court of law Law to appear on behalf of the Board, such member employee shall do so without loss of pay.
6. If at any time during the term of service an employee is not required to report to the Court, he must report to work.
7. Other leaves of absence with pay must be granted by the Board for good reason. The Board’s decision is not subject to arbitration.
8. Personal leave must be taken for a full day.
B. Leaves taken pursuant to Section A above shall be in addition to any sick leave to which the employee is entitled.
