Temporary Reduction of Work Hours or Layoff. Agency Option A. The Agency may temporarily reduce the work hours of an employee to no less than twenty (20) per week, up to thirty (30) calendar days, due to severe and inclement weather or natural disaster and unanticipated loss of funding, or lack of work. Employees will normally receive notice of seven (7) calendar days of a temporary reduction of work hours. B. The Agency may temporarily layoff an employee for up to thirty (30) calendar days due to an unanticipated loss of funding, revenue shortfall, lack of work, shortage of material or equipment, or severe and inclement weather or natural disaster. Employees will receive notice of seven (7) calendar days of a temporary layoff. C. An employee whose work hours are temporarily reduced or who is temporarily laid off will not be entitled to: 1. Be paid any leave balance; 2. Bump to any other position; or 3. Be placed on the internal layoff list. D. A temporary reduction of work hours or layoff will not affect an employee’s periodic increment date and the employee will continue to accrue vacation and sick leave credit at their normal rate.
