Terms of Pregnancy Leave. Pregnancy disability leave may be taken intermittently or on a reduced work schedule when medically available, as determined by the manager's health care provider. If it is medically advisable for a manager to take intermittent leave or leave on a reduced work schedule and it is foreseeable based on planned medical treatment because of pregnancy, the Chief Executive Officer may require the manager to transfer to an available alternative position. This alternative position shall have the equivalent rate of pay and benefits; the manager must be qualified for the position; and it must better accommodate recurring periods of leave than the manager's regular job. It does not have to have equivalent duties. Transfers to an alternative position may include altering an existing job to accommodate better the manager's need for intermittent leave or a reduced work schedule.
