- THE INSTRUCTION. Effective Educators understand the need for planning instructional lessons that are developmentally appropriate, engaging, and challenging for students. Effective Educators use a variety of instructional methods and strategies to engage students in learning and provide multiple and diverse opportunities for students with individual learning needs to practice and master content skills and knowledge. Effective Educators use multiple types of assessments to gauge students’ achievement and then use the student data to modify and improveinstruction.
- THE INSTRUCTION. University shall provide faculty who are approved by the appropriate academic unit and the NIU Graduate School to instruct in the program. The minimum educational requirements for such faculty shall be a doctoral or master’s degree in a field of study deemed appropriate by University. University and its faculty shall be responsible for the content of the Courses, for the coordination of all instruction in the Courses, for the maintenance of high quality academic standards in the Courses, and for the assignment of grades to individual students in the Courses. NIU shall be an independent contractor hereunder. Neither NIU nor any of its employees or other agents shall be deemed to be an employee, agent, servant, or joint employee of the Agency. Agency will have no control or influence over any of NIU’s employees or other agents. In that regard, NIU shall have the sole discretion to hire and fire, discipline, evaluate, manage, train, maintain records of hours, handle payroll, provide insurance, and determine all other terms and conditions of employment for its employees. NIU’s employees and other agents will not be eligible to participate in any Agency employee or fringe benefit programs, including, but not limited to, any bonus, pension, profit sharing, stock option, vacation, disability, retirement, deferred compensation, or insurance, which Agency may maintain for its own employees.
