THE LEARNERWork based learning will allow the learner to acquire credit for undertaking specific learning activities which reflect your interests and job situation. The primary capacity for learning rests with the learner. In proposing a Learning Contract you undertake to: Discuss the strategy for work based learning with the module leader and the representative of the employing organisation Develop and agree the Learning Contract with other people who may be involved as appropriate eg your colleagues Undertake the agreed learning activities, take responsibility for any actions and seek advice and assistance when necessary Arrange and attend meetings/ tutorials with the module leader Collect evidence for the learning that has taken place and complete an eportfolio of evidence of learning and reflective review by the submission date The module leader will assist the learner in the preparation of the Learning Contract and help to evaluate the learning which takes place. The module leader/supervisor will: Assist the learner in the fulfillment of the Learning Contract. Review the plan in terms of feasibility and consistency with the credit sought Help the learner to determine the appropriate evidence needed to demonstrate the learning if requested Provide advice, support and guidance to the learner, the mentor and the employer throughout the period of learning Evaluate and assess the learning for the purpose of awarding academic credit

  • E-LEARNING E-Learning is defined as a method of credit course delivery that relies on communication between students and teachers through the internet or any other digital platform and does not require students to be face-to-face with each other or with their teacher. Online learning shall have the same meaning as E-Learning.

  • Lessons learned Describe the positive aspects of project implementation, the problems encountered and how (if) were they addressed. Describe how other parties could use the solution. Describe best practices that can be adopted or adapted.

  • Labor Management Relations The Employer and the Union recognize that the character and quality of the Union/Management relationship in each Agency has an impact upon productivity and quality services. Accordingly, the parties agree to support joint Labor/Management training in skills and concepts which may contribute to increased Union/Management understanding and cooperative relationships.

  • LABOUR MANAGEMENT RELATIONS 9:01 No employee or group of employees shall undertake to represent the Union at meetings with the Employer without the proper authorization of the Union. The Employer shall not meet with any employee or group of employees undertaking to represent the Union without the proper authorization of the Union. In representing an employee or group of employees, a representative of the Union shall be the spokesperson. In order that this may be carried out, the Union shall supply the Employer with the names of its Officers and representatives. Likewise the Employer shall supply the Union with a list of its Designated Authorities and Chairs where the Chair is not the Designated Authority. Neither the Union nor the Employer shall be required to recognize such representatives until written notification has been received. 9:02 The Union and the Employer acknowledge the mutual benefit of joint consultation and agree, therefore, that there shall be a joint labour/management committee consisting of three (3) representatives from and selected by each party. There shall be one (1) regularly scheduled Labour/Management Committee meeting in each four (4) month term or semester (January to April, May to August, September to December). In addition, meetings shall be arranged at the request of either party through the Labour Relations Department, by submitting in writing the topics to be discussed. Such meetings shall take place, at a mutually-agreeable time, within ten (10) working days of the receipt of the request for the meeting. Meetings shall not be used to discuss matters which are the subject of a grievance nor to discuss any matters which are, at the time, the subject of collective bargaining. The committee shall function in an advisory capacity only, making recommendations to the Union and/or the Employer with respect to its discussions and conclusions, and shall not have the power to add to or modify the terms of this agreement. A representative of each party shall be designated Co-Chairperson, and the two persons so designated shall alternate in presiding over meetings.

  • Distance Learning Faculty teaching distance learning classes shall offer virtual office hours as per Article 13.B.7.

  • Labor-Management Cooperation When an Appointing Authority initiates a planning process or management study which is anticipated to result in layoff, the Appointing Authority will meet and confer with the Local Union during the decision planning phase and again during the implementation planning phase. The Appointing Authority and the Local Union shall enter into negotiations regarding a Memoranda of Understanding upon request of either party to modify this Agreement regarding the implementation plans which shall include, but are not limited to, the following: • Length of layoff notice; • Job and retraining opportunities; • Alternative placement methods; • Early retirement options pursuant to M.S. 43A.24, Subd. 2(i); • Bumping/vacancy options for part-time employees to preserve their insurance eligibility or contribution; and • Other methods of mitigating layoff or their effect on employees.

  • Employment Relations (a) BETA and each of its subsidiaries is in compliance with all Federal, state or other applicable laws, domestic or foreign, respecting employment and employment practices, terms and condi­tions of employment and wages and hours, and has not and is not engaged in any unfair labor practice; (b) no unfair labor practice complaint against BETA or any of its subsidiaries is currently pending before the National Labor Relations Board nor has such a complaint been pending in the last two years; (c) there is no labor strike, dispute, slowdown or stoppage actually pending or threatened against or involving BETA or any of its subsidiaries nor has one existed during the last two years; (d) no representation question exists respecting the employees of BETA or any of its subsidiaries; (e) no grievance which might have an adverse effect upon BETA or any of its subsidiaries or the conduct of BETA ’ Business exists, no arbitration proceeding arising out of or under any collective bargaining agreement is pending and no claim therefor has been asserted; (f) Neither BETA nor any of its subsidiaries is a party to, nor does there otherwise exist, any union, collective bargaining agreement or similar agreement with respect to the employees of BETA or any of its subsidiaries and no collective bargaining agreement or similar agreement is currently being negotiated by BETA or any of its subsidiaries; and (g) Neither BETA nor any of its subsidiaries has experienced any labor difficulty during the last two years. There has not been any adverse change in relations with employees of BETA or any of its subsidiaries as a result of any announcement of the transactions contemplated by this Agreement.

  • Financial Public Relations Firm Promptly after the execution of a definitive agreement for a Business Combination, the Company shall retain a financial public relations firm reasonably acceptable to the Representative for a term to be agreed upon by the Company and the Representative.

  • English Language Learners The Charter School shall comply with all applicable federal laws and regulations relating to the provision of educational services to English Language Learners.

  • Employment Information A written form will be used to specify initial conditions of hiring (including number of hours to be worked, rate of pay, unit and shift). Upon request to their immediate supervisor, employees will be given written confirmation of a change in status or separation in accordance with University of Washington policy. Upon request to their immediate supervisor, records shall be readily available for employees to determine their number of hours worked, rate of pay, sick leave accrued and vacation accrued.
