THE SAFETY COMMITTEE. The Hospital and Union will each designate two (2) representatives to serve on this Committee. The Committee shall meet three times a year or as mutually agreed upon by the parties. An agenda will be agreed upon by management and the Union prior to any meeting. Upon request of the committee, the Hospital will make available the following information to Committee members: OSHA 200 logs, sharps injury logs, safety material required by law to be posted, and other information that is necessary and relevant to discussing unit safety issues. Employee members of the committee will be paid for up to 90 minutes spent attending the committee meetings at their straight time rate. For overtime purposes, time spent by Union committee members will not be counted as hours worked.

THE SAFETY COMMITTEE. All employees shall have the right to work in safe and healthful conditions. To ensure this, a Safety Committee shall be established by the Employer and the Union. This Committee shall consist of the Agency Safety Officer and other Management personnel, and five persons selected by the Union. This Committee shall meet at least once per calendar quarter at a mutually agreeable time during regular working hours with no loss of pay. The Committee shall evaluate safety and health issues, including those resulting from the Agency’s Safety Officer’s inspections, make recommendations and report such recommendations to the Job & Family Services Director for review and implementation. Any such report shall remain confidential until thirty (30) days following the submission of the report to the Job & Family Services Director.

  • Joint Safety Committee (a) The Union and the Company shall cooperate in selecting one or more Safety Committees, which will meet at least once a month to consider all safety and occupational health problems.

  • Safety Committee 62.1 Where a Health and Safety Committee is established on a job in accordance with section 72 of the OHS Act, it shall include the Employer’s Site Safety Supervisor and the Health and Safety Representative/s.

  • Health & Safety Committee The Employer agrees to establish a Health & Safety Committee for all employees of the company under the auspices of the Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA). The Committee shall be made up of an equal number (not less than one each) of non-bargaining unit and bargaining unit persons who have completed their probationary period. The Union has the right to appoint the members representing the bargaining unit. The Committee shall keep minutes of its meetings and post them in the shop. One copy will be forwarded to the Union office.

  • Health and Safety Committee Where required a committee will be formed and will meet where required by the Employer’s safety policies and by statute.

  • Joint Health and Safety Committee i) Recognizing its responsibilities under the applicable legislation, the Hospital agrees to accept as a member of its Joint Health and Safety Committee, at least one (1) representative selected or appointed by the Association from amongst bargaining unit employees from each Hospital site. Hospitals will choose either to include a representative from the bargaining unit from each Hospital site, or to have a separate Joint Health and Safety Committee at each Hospital site, unless the parties agree otherwise.

  • Safety Committees Joint employee-elected and Employer appointed safety committees shall be formed in accord with WISHA requirements and following University of Washington policy. The Union is entitled to representation on the University-wide or specific organizational or divisional committees where bargaining unit employees are working. Any department or unit committee also dealing with health and safety issues in work areas shall appropriately involve bargaining unit employees. Participation in safety and health committees, including meeting time, health and safety research, work on committee assignments, seminars, and classes will be considered time worked for all employees in accordance with University policy. Release time must be arranged with supervisors in advance. When the committee makes a recommendation that requires action or approval beyond its scope of authority, the Employer will communicate its disposition of the formal written recommendation within thirty (30) days.

  • Occupational Health and Safety Committee The Employer and the Union agree to cooperate in the promotion of safe working conditions, the prevention of accidents, the prevention of workplace injuries and the promotion of safe workplace practices.

  • Health and Safety Committees A. The parties agree that Joint Union/Management Health and Safety Committees are appropriate. At the Union's request, each department shall establish at least one Joint Union/Management Health and Safety Committee.
