TIME FOR UNION DUTIES. Those Employees who are Union officers and/or Committee Members will be entitled to leave their work during working hours in order to carry out their functions under this Agreement, including, but not limited to, the investigation and processing of grievances, attendance at meetings with the Employer, and participation in negotiations and arbitration. Employees must provide the Employer with reasonable notice of such required absences, permission for which the Employer will not reasonably withhold. Time spent by Employees in performing such Union duties will be considered as time worked, but will not be used in the calculation of overtime as defined in Article 23.06.

TIME FOR UNION DUTIES. Those Employees who are Union officers and/or the Shop Xxxxxxx will be entitled to leave their work during working hours in order to carry out their functions under this Agreement, including, but not limited to, the investigation and processing of grievances, attendance at meetings with the Employer, and participation in negotiations and arbitration. Employees must provide the Employer with reasonable notice of at least 24 hours prior to required absences, and permission by the Employer will not unreasonably be withheld. Time spent by Employees in performing such Union duties will be considered as time worked, but will not be used in the calculation of overtime as defined in Article 24.05.
TIME FOR UNION DUTIES. Those Employees who are Union Stewards will be entitled to leave their work during working hours, with pay, in order to attend joint meetings with Management with respect to grievances up to but not including arbitration.

In the event that such duties fall on a day that the Employee is not scheduled to work, Article 28.07 Minimum Length of Shift provisions shall apply.

  • NON-TEACHING DUTIES A. The Committee and the Association agree that a teacher's primary responsibility is to teach. It must be remembered, however, that in addition to that primary purpose there are other responsibilities within the School that must be assumed by teachers. The Committee and the Association recognize that paraeducators, clerical employees are useful and necessary in order to implement teaching. The Committee, having made provisions for paraeducators, will continue to work toward the improvement of this situation.

  • Civic Duties An employee who is late for work as a result of duties as a volunteer fire fighter or licensed ambulance attendant or licensed rescue squad attendant, shall be granted use of annual leave and/or accrued compensatory leave to cover the period of lateness, provided that performance of said duties may be verified by the Employer.
