Required Absences. An Employee who is required to be absent because of jury duty, subpoena or quarantine (as identified by the Medical Officer of Health) shall not be subject to loss of pay or deduction from sick leave credits. The Board may not grant payment in other court related matters.

A Teacher who is on jury duty shall tender all monies received from the courts to the Board less such amounts as are intended for mileage and other stated expenses, in order to qualify for payment as set out herein. At the request of the Dufferin-Peel Secondary Unit, the Board shall grant leaves of absence with pay and benefits for up to two (2) teachers to be used by the President and/or other officer of the Dufferin-Peel Secondary Unit for the duration of their respective terms of office, provided the Dufferin-Peel Secondary Unit reimburses the Board for the salary and benefits of the teachers involved. The salary of the President of the Dufferin-Peel Secondary Unit shall be based on the amount prescribed in the Dufferin-Peel Secondary Unit by-laws. The leave shall commence at either the beginning of classes following summer vacation or semester break, and shall also end at one of those times. Such requests for leave of absence shall be presented to the Director of Education in writing and shall be made before May In extenuating circumstances a request for leave of absence may be made after May so long as it is made at least sixty (60) days before the leave is to commence. If any leave is to be less than full time, then the teacher in question will be granted half-time leave on the following basis: full day, alternate school days; or half day, every school day; or an alternate plan mutually agreed upon by the Director of Education and the Dufferin-Peel Secondary Unit. Seniority, experience and the accumulation of sick leave credits shall continue during the leave. Upon request of the Dufferin-Peel Secondary Unit to the Director of Education, a Teacher shall be released from duties to perform official business without loss of pay or sick leave credits or benefits, provided that the Dufferin-Peel Secondary Unit reimburses the Board for the cost of a supply teacher at the daily rate. Should no replacement be available no charge shall apply to the Dufferin-Peel Secondary Unit. Such leaves shall not exceed two (2) consecutive school days unless mutually agreeable to the Director of Education and the Dufferin-Peel Secondary Unit.   • Extended Absences In the event Tenant will be away from the Premises for more than 7 consecutive days, Tenant agrees to notify Landlord in writing of such absence. During such absence, Landlord may enter the premises at times reasonable necessary to maintain the property and inspect for damages and needed repairs.

  • Excused Absence No later than the 8th consecutive day of a pupil’s absence, CONTRACTOR shall notify LEA of such absence. If CONTRACTOR fails to provide such notice by the 8th day of consecutive absence, CONTRACTOR shall not be compensated for services delivered during continuing absence after the 8th consecutive day of absence. The LEA shall not be responsible for payment for more than eight (8) cumulative days of excused absences in one semester unless a written time extension is granted by XXX. XXX shall not be responsible for payment for days of unexcused absences. All excused absences must be verified and a copy must be submitted to LEA with the monthly invoice. All documentation must be kept for at least five (5) years from the date of origination. Only the individuals listed below may verify the reason for absence:

  • Other Absences An employee who is absent from work for any reason, other than those reasons listed above, will not be entitled either to have his/her vacation scheduled or to receive a vacation allowance during the period of such absence.

  • Reporting Absences (a) Employees are responsible to report to work on time on each scheduled work day.

  • Approved Leave of Absence With Pay During Vacation When an employee is qualified for bereavement leave, sick leave or any other approved leave with pay during her vacation period, there shall be no deduction from the vacation credits for such leave. In the case of sick leave, this section shall only apply when the period of illness or injury is in excess of two (2) days and a note from a physician may be required. The period of vacation so displaced shall be taken at a mutually agreed time. An employee intending to claim displaced vacation leave must advise the Employer and provide necessary documentation within seven (7) days of returning to work.

  • STAFF ABSENCE When CONTRACTOR is an NPS and CONTRACTOR’s classroom teacher is absent, CONTRACTOR shall provide an appropriately credentialed substitute teacher in the absent teacher’s classroom in accordance with California Education Code section 56061. CONTRACTOR shall provide to LEA documentation of substitute coverage on substitute teacher log. Substitute teachers shall remain with their assigned class during all instructional time. XXX shall not be responsible for payment for instruction and/or services when an appropriately credentialed substitute teacher is not provided. When CONTRACTOR is a nonpublic agency and/or related services provider, and CONTRACTOR’s service provider is absent, CONTRACTOR shall provide a qualified (as defined in section seven (7) of this agreement and as determined by LEA) substitute, unless XXX provides appropriate coverage in lieu of CONTRACTOR’s service providers. It is understood that the parent of a student shall not be deemed to be qualified substitute for their student. XXX will not pay for services unless a qualified substitute is provided and/or CONTRACTOR provides documentation evidencing the provision of “make-up” services by a qualified service provider within thirty (30) calendar days from the date on which the services should have been provided. CONTRACTOR shall not “bank” or “carry over” make up service hours under any circumstances, unless otherwise agreed to in writing by CONTRACTOR and authorized LEA representative.
