Union DutiesThe Board recognizes that occasionally it may be necessary for executive officers of the Union Local to be absent from their teaching duties in order to attend to Union matters. Special leave, without loss of salary or deduction of sick leave credits, up to a maximum of sixty-five (65) days in any school year, may be granted at the discretion of the appropriate Superintendent to executive officers of the Local following a written request from the Local. The Local shall reimburse the Board for any occasional teaching costs incurred.
Union Duties. The Employer agrees that the elected officers of the Union and/or duly appointed representatives and committee members, shall be granted time off from duty hours, when necessary and without loss of pay, for the purpose of fulfilling their Union representation duties, which shall be defined as necessary meetings with the Employer for matters which may require discussion and consultation by both parties. Such matters shall include negotiations, workers' compensation, pension, work rules, discussion with the Employer to attempt to resolve possible grievances and any other meetings which are mutually set by the Employer and the Union. However, under no conditions shall more than two (2) Union representatives be excused from their regular shift at any one time and/or be paid for attending meetings in accordance with the above.
Union Duties. 10.5.5.1 Members of the bargaining unit are permitted to participate in Union and related duties during the course of any year so long as arrangements satisfactory to their Coordinators and the Xxxx have been made for the carrying out of their contractual obligations to the University (see 2.8).

Where it is necessary for an employee to leave their work duties to perform Union duties they shall first receive approval from their Department Head or designate. Where approval is requested under this clause it will normally be granted provided that the Department Head is satisfied that there will not be an unreasonable disruption of the work.
Union DutiesAn employee who is elected or selected for a full time position with the Union or anybody with which the Union is affiliated or who is elected to public office will be granted leave of absence without pay and without loss of seniority by the Corporation for a period of one year. This period may be extended by the Corporation, at its discretion, at the end of the year.

Union Duties. 10.5.4.1 Members of the Unit are permitted to participate in Union and related duties during the course of any year so long as arrangements satisfactory to their Co-ordinators and the Xxxx have been made for the carrying out of their contractual obligations to the College. 10.5.4.2 Reasonable release time without pay shall be provided by the College to persons named by the Union for the conduct of Union business; this release time shall be provided in section units. The provision of the said release time is contingent on suitable arrangements being made for the carrying out of the contractual duties to the College of the said persons. 10.5.4.3 An employee shall be granted part or full-time leave of absence for union business, including work or duties performed for any organization to which the union is affiliated, subject to the following: 10.5.4.3.1 The leave shall not exceed two years. 10.5.4.3.2 The leave shall be subject to the reasonable and bona fide curriculum and scheduling requirements of the employer. 10.5.4.3.3 An employee granted the leave shall continue to receive full salary and benefits from the employer and the union shall, on a monthly basis, reimburse the employer for the full amount of the employee’s salary and benefits. 10.5.4.3.4 The employee shall continue to accrue seniority equal to the sections or section equivalencies for which he/she is released.
