Union Duties. 10.5.5.1 Members of the bargaining unit are permitted to participate in Union and related duties during the course of any year so long as arrangements satisfactory to their Coordinators and the Xxxx have been made for the carrying out of their contractual obligations to the University (see 2.8).
Union Duties. The Board recognizes that occasionally it may be necessary for executive officers of the Union Local to be absent from their teaching duties in order to attend to Union matters. Special leave, without loss of salary or deduction of sick leave credits, up to a maximum of sixty-five (65) days in any school year, may be granted at the discretion of the appropriate Superintendent to executive officers of the Local following a written request from the Local. The Local shall reimburse the Board for any occasional teaching costs incurred.
Union Duties. The Employer agrees that the elected officers of the Union and/or duly appointed representatives and committee members, shall be granted time off from duty hours, when necessary and without loss of pay, for the purpose of fulfilling their Union representation duties, which shall be defined as necessary meetings with the Employer for matters which may require discussion and consultation by both parties. Such matters shall include negotiations, workers' compensation, pension, work rules, discussion with the Employer to attempt to resolve possible grievances and any other meetings which are mutually set by the Employer and the Union. However, under no conditions shall more than two (2) Union representatives be excused from their regular shift at any one time and/or be paid for attending meetings in accordance with the above.
Union Duties. Sabbaticals and paid release for Union duties, as well as University approved unpaid leaves shall not be considered by the University a break in service to the University.
Union Duties. The Union shall represent all employees of the school system within the bargaining unit equally and without discrimination regardless of their membership or non-membership in the Union.

No employee shall be disciplined or penalized academically for the exercise of her/his rights under this Collective Agreement, or by reason of her/his membership or non-membership or lawful activity or lack of activity in the Union. Where it is necessary for an employee to leave her/his work duties to perform Union duties she/he shall first receive approval from her/his employment
Union Duties. An employee who is elected or selected for a full time position with the Union or anybody with which the Union is affiliated or who is elected to public office will be granted leave of absence without pay and without loss of seniority by the Corporation for a period of one year. This period may be extended by the Corporation, at its discretion, at the end of the year.
Union Duties. The Corporation shall, on application from the Union, grant one year's leave of absence without pay to any one (1) employee selected to work full-time for the Union. The Corporation shall require at least two (2) months notice and advise in writing fi-om the Union that it will pay the any benefits which are to be retained during said leave. Failure to do so may mean cancellation of benefits in accordance with normal non- payment policies.

Full Time (or Part Time): Any employee who is elected or selected for a full-time or part-time position with the Union or anybody with which the Union is affiliated, shall be granted leave of absence without pay and without loss of seniority for a period of up to one (1) year. Such leave shall be reviewed each year on request during his term of office.
