- Transfer Outside Unit. Any employee in the bargaining unit who has been transferred or promoted to a position outside of the bargaining unit shall have his/her seniority frozen and he/she shall not accrue further seniority until he/she returns to the bargaining unit. If he/she is subsequently relieved of such a position because of lack of work or inability to perform the work, or at his/her own request, the Board must give the employee the opportunity to return to the bargaining unit. After returning to the bargaining unit, he/she shall have the benefit of all seniority he/she has or may accrue in the bargaining unit.

- Transfer Outside Unit. An employee shall not be transferred to a position outside of the bargaining unit without her consent. If an employee is transferred to a position outside of the bargaining unit, she shall retain her seniority up to the date of leaving the bargaining unit but will not accumulate any further seniority that would be applicable to the employee in the event of a return to the bargaining unit. An employee so transferred can elect to return to her former classification provided the time period does not exceed a maximum of sixty (60) days worked from date of transfer. Temporary Transfer A temporary vacancy in a job classification will be to be temporary while the incumbent is absent due to a leave of absence which leave will not extend beyond a period of six (6) months or such longer period that agreed to by the parties to this Agreement.
