Access to Employees Staff representatives of the Union shall be allowed to visit work areas of employees during working hours and confer on conditions of employment to the extent that such visitations do not disrupt the work activities of the area being visited. Prior to entering the work area, the representative shall receive permission from the appropriate department head or his/her designee stating the reason(s) for such visitations. Permission shall not be unreasonably denied.
Student Employees A student employee is an employee who is hired for short-term work which is not ongoing. He/she is normally in the process of completing his/her post-graduate studies and is expected to return to his/her studies after an agreed employment period. The employee's benefits and working conditions are as per Article 34 (Temporary Employees).
Shift Employees Employees who work rotating shift patterns or those who work qualifying shifts shall be entitled, on completion of 12 months employment on shift work, to up to an additional 5 days annual leave, based on the number of qualifying shifts worked. The entitlement will be calculated on the annual leave anniversary date. Qualifying shifts are defined as a shift which involves at least 2 hours work performed outside the hours of 8.00am to 5.00pm, excluding overtime. Access to Personnel Records Upon written request to the Chief of Police, an employee shall have access to that employee's records during normal office hours of the records custodian. Such access to personnel records shall be within a reasonable time of said request. Such request shall not interfere with the employee's regularly scheduled working hours. Review of the records shall be made in the presence of the Chief or the Chief's designated representative.
Access to Personnel Files All employees shall be allowed access to their personnel files during normal working hours for inspection and/or copies of documents which will be provided by the Employer. Such inspection shall be made subject to prior arrangement with the Employer.
New Employees The Employer agrees to acquaint new Employees with the fact that a Union Agreement is in effect.
No New Employees New employees shall not be hired until those laid off have been given an opportunity of recall.
Access to Personnel File Each employee shall have reasonable access to his/her personnel file for the purpose of reviewing any evaluations or formal disciplinary notations contained therein, in the presence of the Director of Personnel or designate. An employee has the right to request copies of any evaluations in this file.
Replacement Employees (a) A replacement employee is an employee specifically engaged or temporarily promoted or transferred, as a result of an employee proceeding on parental leave. (b) Before an employer engages a replacement employee the employer must inform that person of the temporary nature of the employment and of the rights of the employee who is being replaced.
Restricted Employment for Certain State Personnel Contractor acknowledges that, pursuant to Section 572.069 of the Texas Government Code, a former state officer or employee of a state agency who during the period of state service or employment participated on behalf of a state agency in a procurement or contract negotiation involving Contractor may not accept employment from Contractor before the second anniversary of the date the Contract is signed or the procurement is terminated or withdrawn.
