UNSCHEDULED DAYS OF ANNUAL VACATION. 6.01 Maintenance employees who are entitled to three (3) weeks annual vacation will have the option of leaving one (1) week of Annual Vacation unscheduled and Maintenance employees who are entitled to four (4) weeks or more of Annual Vacation will have the option of leaving two (2) weeks of Annual Vacation unscheduled, at the time of the Annual Vacation Sign- up. 6.02 The unscheduled days will be scheduled by mutual agreement between the employees and their supervisor, subject to staffing requirements, at a later date and may be taken one or more days at a time. 6.03 The following rules shall apply to unscheduled days of annual vacation: a) Employees must show their intent to retain the one or two weeks of unscheduled days at the time of the Annual Vacation Sign-up by signing the unscheduled holiday sheet. b) Employees are required to submit a time sheet prior to taking an Annual Vacation Day. c) Employees shall arrange these Annual Vacation days with their immediate supervisor, giving forty-eight (48) hours minimum advance notice of their intent. d) The scheduling of an Annual Vacation day shall be subject to staffing requirements as determined by the Employer.

  • Scheduled Days Off Except in cases of emergency, no employee will be required to return to his/her place of employment on his/her scheduled day off.

  • Vacation Periods Vacation schedules will be set by the employee’s immediate supervisor(s) and sent to the Office of Human Resources for approval. Employees may request a particular period for vacation. Vacation days may not be taken in advance of their accrual. Those employees who are on a 12-month teacher contract are paid during Spring Break and Winter Recess, however, are not expected to be in attendance or perform duties during those breaks.

  • Reinstatement of Vacation Days - Sick Leave In the event an employee is sick or injured prior to the commencement of his/her vacation, such employee shall be granted sick leave and the vacation period so displaced shall be added to the vacation period if requested by the employee and by mutual agreement, or shall be reinstated for use at a later date.

  • Holiday Falling on a Scheduled Workday An Employee who works on a designated holiday which is a scheduled workday shall be compensated at the rate of double time for hours worked, plus a day off in lieu of the holiday; except for Christmas and New Year's when the compensation shall be at the rate of double time and one-half (2½) for hours worked, plus a day off subject to this Agreement.

  • Splitting of Vacation Periods ‌ Annual vacations for employees with ten (10) work days’ vacation or more shall be granted in one (1) continuous period but may, upon request from the employee, be divided, subject to the approval of the Employer, provided that the following shall apply: 1. The Employer’s approval shall not be unreasonably withheld, taking into consideration the operational requirements of the department; and 2. At least one block of vacation shall be at least five (5) days in duration. Employees wishing to split their vacations shall exercise seniority rights in the choice of the first vacation period. Seniority shall prevail in the choice of the second vacation period, but only after all other “first” vacation periods have been approved. Seniority shall also prevail in the choice of each subsequent vacation period, but only after each previous vacation period has been approved. Annual vacations for employees with less than ten (10) work days’ vacation shall be granted in one (1) continuous period.

  • Scheduled Downtime For the purposes of this Agreement, Scheduled Downtime will mean those hours, as determined by us but which will not occur between the hours of 9:00 AM and 5:00 PM Eastern Time, Monday through Friday without your authorization or unless exigent circumstances exist, during which time we will perform scheduled maintenance or adjustments to the Environment. We will use our best efforts to provide you with at least twenty-four (24) hours of notice prior to scheduling Scheduled Downtime.

  • Vacation Days Employee shall be entitled to the same paid vacation days each calendar year during the term of this Employee Agreement as authorized by the Company for its other employees.

  • Vacation Earnings for Partial Years ‌ (a) During the first partial year of service a new employee will earn vacation at the rate of one and one-quarter days for each month for which they earn 10 days' pay. (b) During the first and subsequent vacation years an employee will earn one-twelfth of the annual entitlement for each month in which the employee has received at least 10 days' pay at straight-time rates. Where an employee has taken more vacation than earned, the unearned portion taken shall be charged against future earned credits or recovered upon termination whichever occurs first.

  • Rostered Days Off 38.1 The ordinary working hours shall be worked in a ten (10) day/two (2) week cycle, Monday to Friday inclusive with eight (8) hours worked on each of nine days within the cycle and with 0.8 of an hour on each of those days accruing toward the tenth day, which shall be taken as a paid day off. The tenth day will be known as the Rostered Day Off or (RDO). 38.2 RDOs are paid at the ordinary time rate paid to Employees at the time of taking the RDO and will include the daily ‘Fares & Travelling Allowance’, and any applicable Site Allowance as prescribed by this Agreement. 38.3 For clarity, 26 RDOs will be accrued by an Employee in each twelve months continuous service. The Employer must maintain a RDO accrual system that accurately records the accrual of RDOs in accordance with this Agreement. 38.4 Each day of paid leave taken and any public holiday occurring during any cycle of two weeks will be a day worked for accrual purposes. 38.5 Upon commencement of employment, Employees who have not worked a complete ten (10) day/two (2) week cycle, will receive pro-rata accrual entitlements for the first RDO or group of RDOs falling after their commencement of employment. An Employer and Employee may agree to RDO accruals in advance in instances where the Employee does not have sufficient RDO accruals when an RDO falls due. 38.6 Upon termination of employment, an adjustment will be made to ensure that the full RDO entitlements, and no more, have been provided. This means that Employees then having received more RDOs than they were entitled to will have the relevant amount removed from final termination payments, and Employees who have received less than their full RDO entitlement will have the outstanding amount added to final termination payments.
