Common use of Unassisted Leave Clause in Contracts

Unassisted Leave. a) The Employer may grant an employee a leave of absence without pay for a period of up to one (1) year. Such a leave may be for any purpose mutually agreed to between the employee and the Employer. Application for such leave must be requested in writing, to the President, a minimum of three (3) months prior to commencement of the intended leave. Under special circumstances, a leave granted under this article may be extended up to an additional six (6) months.
