Uniform Provision & Expenditure Allowance. Employees may be required to wear uniform clothing as specified by the Department Head or designee. The Department Head or designee may authorize the provision or partial provision for such clothing and the cleaning and maintenance of such clothing, or may authorize payment of a clothing allowance in lieu of such provisions. Annually in July, each employee will be allowed a one-time department expenditure of three hundred dollars ($300.00) to use to purchase clothing selected by the employee from a department-head approved list of items. The purchase of the items will be coordinated and tracked by the department.

Uniform Provision & Expenditure Allowance. Employees may be required to wear uniform clothing as specified by the Department Head or his/her designee. The Department Head or his/her designee may authorize the provision or partial provision for such clothing and the cleaning and maintenance of such clothing, or may authorize payment of a clothing allowance in lieu of such provisions. Uniform provisions are dependent on the employee’s assigned work location, whether main Probation or the Institutions. Employees working in the Institutions are required to wear a uniform and as such, new employees shall receive their first set of uniforms upon entering service. The Department will determine what the uniform needs are and provide the first set at no cost to the employee. In the event that the Chief Probation Officer or his/her designee approves a change in the uniform, the full cost of any new uniform shall be borne by the County. The first pay period following MOU adoption, designated safety employees assigned to Institutions will be allowed a one-time department expenditure of $140 to use to purchase clothing selected by the employee from a department-head approved list of items. After the first year initial purchase, in July of each year thereafter each designated safety employee within the Institutions will be allowed a one-time department expenditure of $65 to use to purchase clothing selected by the employee from a department-head approved list of items. The purchase of the items will be coordinated and tracked by the department. The first pay period following MOU adoption, designated safety employees within the main Probation Department will be allowed a one-time department expenditure of $350 to use to purchase clothing selected by the employee from a department-head approved list of items. After the first year initial purchase, in July of each year thereafter each designated safety employee within the main Probation Department will be allowed a one-time department expenditure of $150 to use to purchase clothing selected by the employee from a department- head approved list of items.
