UNION DUES OR FEES AND PAYROLL DEDUCTIONS. 1. Any employee who is a member of the Union or who has applied for membership may sign and deliver to the Board an assignment authorizing deduction of dues, assessments and contributions in the Union which sum shall be in such amount as established by the Union. Such authorization shall continue in effect from year to year unless revoked according to the procedures outlined in the Xxxxxx-Xxxxxx Educational Support Personnel Association, MEA/NEA Constitution and By- laws. Pursuant to such authorization, the Board shall deduct such dues, assessments and contributions in equal payments from the regular payroll check of the employee each pay period for eight (8) months, beginning in September and ending in May of each year. There will be no deduction for the last pay period in December and the first pay period in January.

Any Bargaining Unit Member who is not a member of the Union in good standing or who does not make application for membership within thirty (30) days from the date of commencement of duties, shall, as a condition of employment pay as a service fee to the Union an amount equivalent to the Union's regular dues and assessments, excluding initiation fees; provided, however, that the Bargaining Unit Member may authorize payroll deductions for such fee in the same manner as provided below. In the event that a Bargaining Unit Member shall not pay such service fee directly to the Union or authorize payment through payroll deduction as provided in this Agreement, the Board shall, at the request of the Union, terminate the employment of such Bargaining Unit Member. The parties expressly recognize that the failure of any Bargaining Unit Member to comply with the provisions of this ARTICLE is just and reasonable cause for discharge.

An employee may cancel their payroll deduction of dues and assessments by written notice to the Union and to the District, with the District stopping dues deductions following written confirmation from the Union that the employee’s dues/fees authorization has been terminated in compliance with the terms of the written authorization executed by the employee. The District will make every effort to end the automatic dues deduction effective on the first pay period but no later than the second pay period after receipt of the written cancellation notice from the employee and confirmation from the Union that the cancellation notice is compliant with the terms of the written authorization.

  • Other Payroll Deductions In addition to the above, the City will deduct from an employee's payroll check, upon authorization by the employee, amounts payable to causes or organizations selected by the Union. At any one time, no more than ten (10) such causes or organizations may be identified by the Union as authorized to benefit from such payroll deductions unless otherwise authorized by the City in its sole discretion. The Union will notify the City of the causes and organizations to be so authorized. Payroll deductions shall be governed by the ability of the City Auditor's payroll system to handle same.

  • Transfer Fees and Taxes If any of the Common Shares subscribed for are to be issued to a person or persons other than the Registered Warrantholder, the Registered Warrantholder shall execute the form of transfer and will comply with such reasonable requirements as the Warrant Agent may stipulate and will pay to the Corporation or the Warrant Agent on behalf of the Corporation, all applicable transfer or similar taxes and the Corporation will not be required to issue or deliver certificates evidencing Common Shares unless or until such Warrantholder shall have paid to the Corporation or the Warrant Agent on behalf of the Corporation, the amount of such tax or shall have established to the satisfaction of the Corporation and the Warrant Agent that such tax has been paid or that no tax is due.
