Union Representatives
Article XII Union Rights. (a) The County recognizes the right of the Employees to designate specific representatives of the Union to appear on their behalf to discuss salaries, working conditions, grievances and disputes as to the terms and conditions of this Agreement and to visit Employees during working hours, subject to work requirements of the County. The Union representatives shall consist of the following: Thirty (30) shop stewards and five (5) officers who shall be the sole representatives of the Union authorized to carry out such duties. Only representatives designated by the Union President shall be permitted a reasonable amount of time free from regular duties to fulfill their obligations. A listing of representatives shall be given to the County Executive in January of each year and within thirty (30) days of any change. Time required for such representation must be reported to the Unit Head on at least a weekly basis. Such representatives shall be permitted to appear at public hearings before the County Legislature.
