Union Shop Xxxxxxx. Unless required by the Employer, there shall be no non-working Xxxxxxx(s). The Union shall notify the Employer in writing the name(s) of its Xxxxxxx(s). He will be allowed reasonable time to perform his duties. The Xxxxxxx(s) shall be retained until the end of the job, provided there is work available for which he is qualified, otherwise the appropriate Union will be notified in order to appoint a successor(s). The xxxxxxx(s) shall not be discriminated against and shall receive his fair share of overtime work for which he is qualified.

Union Shop Xxxxxxx. 5.07 Where in the opinion of Local Union 488 a Shop Xxxxxxx is deemed necessary, the Xxxxxxx shall be a working journeyman employed by the employer for at least one continuous year as a journeyman and shall be appointed by the Business Manager of the Union, who shall in addition to his work as a Journeyman be permitted to perform, during working hours, such of his union duties as cannot be performed at other times, including those duties assigned to him by the Union. In circumstances where the bargaining relationship between the Employer and Local Union 488 is less than one year in duration, then the requirement that the Xxxxxxx be employed with the Employer for at least one year shall be waived. It is further understood and agreed that the Stewards duties do not include matters relating to referral, hiring or termination, but do include seeing that the provisions of the Agreement are complied with. The Shop Xxxxxxx shall not be discriminated against for performance of any lawful union activities.
Union Shop Xxxxxxx. One (1) Alternate Shop Xxxxxxx will be recognized in the store when the Shop Xxxxxxx is absent. The Union shall inform the Co-operative in writing of the Alternate Shop Xxxxxxx. Where a supervisor intends to interview any employee for disciplinary purposes, the supervisor shall so notify the employee in advance of the purpose of the interview in order that the employee contact his/her Xxxxxxx or Union Representative to be present at the interview. The Employer may suspend the employee with pay, pending the interview, in an emergency.
