Unpaid Leave – Relocation of Spouse. At the request of an employee, leave without pay for a period up to one (1) year shall be granted to an employee whose spouse is permanently relocated and up to five (5) years to an employee whose spouse is temporarily relocated. During such leave an employee shall retain but not accumulate his/her seniority, and any applicable vacation, sick leave, special leave entitlements and benefits shall cease and Article 36.02 will not apply to such benefits. Upon return to work, the employee’s seniority, applicable vacation, sick leave, special leave entitlements and benefits available to the employee immediately before his/her leave of absence shall be reinstated.
