Common use of Vacation Preferences Clause in Contracts

Vacation Preferences. (a) Preferences in the selection and allocation of vacation time shall be determined on the basis of service seniority within each work unit. (b) An employee shall be entitled to receive her vacation in an unbroken period. Employees wishing to split their vacation shall exercise seniority rights in the choice of their first vacation period. Seniority shall prevail in the second vacation period, but only after all other "first" vacation periods have been posted. Seniority shall also prevail in further choices in the same manner. (c) Regular vacations shall have priority over vacation time carried over under the provisions of Article 18.4.
