When Holiday Falls on Saturday or Sunday. If the prescribed holiday falls on a Saturday, the previous Friday, not itself a holiday, is the holiday; if it falls on Sunday, the following Monday, not itself a holiday, shall be the holiday. Notwithstanding the foregoing, the District and Union can agree to an arrangement, for a given holiday, other than that prescribed herein. An employee terminated the day before a holiday does not qualify for holiday pay.
When Holiday Falls on Saturday or Sunday. When a holiday falls on a Saturday, the preceding working day not a holiday shall be deemed to be that holiday. When a holiday falls on a Sunday, the following work day not a holiday shall be deemed to be that holiday. The Union Business Representative may agree with the administration to change the day being observed for a particular employee, building, or classification.
