Common use of Witness Fees Clause in Contracts

Witness Fees. When a full-time employee is summoned to court as a witness, they will be reimbursed by being paid the difference between witness fees received and their normal earnings for the period of absence had they worked on such days, to a maximum of three (3) days per year. It is understood that no allowance of pay will be paid to an employee who is summoned to court as a result of an infraction of the law on their part or of any litigation to which they are a party not arising from the performance of their normal duties. The Company reserves the right to require the employee to provide appropriate verification of the nature of the court duty and fees received before providing reimbursement.
