Education Assistance Program. Section 1. When resources are available, each member of the Bargaining Unit shall be offered educational assistance as described in Lake County Board of Commissioners Resolution establishing a Lake County plan for job-related education courses to deter the cost of job-related courses in an accredited college or university in the same manner as provided to all county general fund employees. Pre-approval, by the Sheriff, shall be done in a fair manner.
Education Assistance Program. As part of the City’s Educational Assistance policy, employees may request reimbursement for job-related educational courses and seminars that have been preapproved by the department director and Director of Human Resources. Proof of attendance and receipts must be submitted to Human Resources within 30 calendar days of attendance. Reimbursement for job-related educational courses shall be administered on a first-come, first-served basis and subject to budgetary limitations.
Education Assistance Program. Employees who wish to enroll in job-related and promotion oriented courses which will improve their job knowledge and performance will be compensated by the District for expenses as follows:
A. When an employee is in the process of acquiring a sixty (60) semester unit or a ninety (90) quarter unit degree (e.g., Associate of Arts, Certificate of Achievement), or when an employee is properly authorized to enroll in a Certificate of Achievement Program, correspondence course and/or a specific course of study that may not result in a degree, said employee shall be reimbursed a maximum of one thousand five hundred dollars ($1,500.00).
B. When an employee exceeds sixty (60) semester units or ninety (90) quarter units and is enrolled in upper division course work, said employee shall be reimbursed a maximum of two thousand dollars ($2,000.00).
C. The maximum amount that an employee may be reimbursed under this program in any fiscal year is two thousand dollars ($2,000.00).
D. Language Programs will also be covered by these provisions or employees wishing to learn another language. Out-of-pocket expenses for required textbooks and course materials may be included for reimbursement within the above dollar limits. Textbooks may be retained by the employee upon completion of the course. Courses must be taken at an accredited institution, or through correspondence courses or other approved vendors, whether training is delivered in-person or on-line, if comparable courses are not available in local schools or of the work assignment of the individual is such that it does not permit regular classroom attendance. Approval of other vendors under this Section and the establishment of criteria for successful completion, when those listed below are inapplicable shall be at the discretion of the Department Manager of Training and Development. Except for unusual circumstances, employees will not be granted time off from their regular work schedule to attend courses taken under this Section. Approval for said courses must be granted by the department head prior to enrollment. Reimbursement shall be made upon presentation of proper receipts and upon completion of the course with at least a grade “C” or its equivalent. At the employee’s option, an advance may be secured from the District against tuition costs by agreeing to payroll deduction of the amount of the advance if:

Education Assistance Program. The City will reimburse costs for education based upon IRS Regulation 1.162-5, as noted here: “Employer-paid education that is related to the employee’s current job is excluded from income as a working condition fringe benefit if the following conditions are met:
10.5.1. The courses must not be necessary to meet the minimum education requirements of the current position.
10.5.2. The courses are not taken to qualify the employee for a promotion or transfer to a different type of work.
10.5.3. The education must be related to the employee’s current position and must help maintain or improve the knowledge and skills required for that position (e.g., a refresher or update course). If the requirements change while the employee is working, employer-paid education designed to meet them is a working condition fringe benefit.
10.5.4. All education reimbursement must be pre-approved (before classes start) by the Department Head and the City Manager. For additional information and how to utilize this benefit, please refer to the City’s Education Assistance Program Policy.
Education Assistance Program. Subject to the budgetary considerations, all full-time permanent employees who are members of Amherst DPW Association – S are eligible for the Educational Assistance Program. The Town of Amherst will pay charges required by a school, including registration, tuition, books, materials, and laboratory fees for any course directly related to an employee’s job, or required for a degree which is so related. The Town of Amherst will pay the educational institution directly for courses approved by the Department Head and the Town Manager. Appointees who withdraw from the course before completion or do not successfully complete the course shall be ineligible for participation in the program for two (2) full years following their withdrawal from the course. No employee may receive more than $250.00 in any fiscal year toward outside education. If any employee withdraws from the course before completion, the employee shall reimburse the Town for that portion of the tuition which is not reimbursable by the educational institution. Any employees who leaves the employ of the Town voluntarily, within twelve (12) months of receiving assistance under this provision, will reimburse the Town for fifty percent (50%) of such assistance. The Education Assistance Program is primarily for the support of continuing education during non- working hours at institutions of higher learning. The Department Head, with the approval of the Town Manager, may grant release time during working hours for participation in the program.
Education Assistance Program. The Company is committed to providing opportunities for employees to improve present job performance and to prepare for reasonable attainable jobs within the Company.
A. The Company will refund qualified tuition expense in connection with courses of study from an accredited or state approved post-secondary education institute, trade school or part of an appropriate qualified professional certification provided by a third party vendor that an employee successfully completes, provided that the course of study is related to the employee’s current job or other reasonably attainable Company position.
B. Qualified reimbursable expenses include: tuition, registration fees, examination fees, and laboratory charges provided the employee obtains a satisfactory (C or better/pass) grade. Student fees, transportation, late fees, drop/add fees and other expenses are not covered.
C. The refund shall be for one hundred percent (100%) of the first class taken each year and eighty (80%) of total costs, up to a yearly limit per employee of five thousand two hundred and fifty dollars ($5,250.00).
D. In order to obtain tuition reimbursement, the employee must obtain prior written approval from their Director and the Director, Workforce Operations, Human Resources department, that the proposed course is qualified under (A) above, and provide documentation of successful completion and tuition expenses paid.
E. The employee is required to sign the Request for Education Assistance to repay the Company in the event of voluntary termination, within three hundred sixty (360) calendar days after completion of the course as follows: < 3 months 100% 3 < 6 months 75% 6 < 9 months 50% 9 < 12 months 25% 12 + months 0%
Education Assistance Program. (a) The SJTA will provide tuition up to the Rutgers the State University per credit cost.
(b) Employees shall be allowed to take up to six (6) credits per semester.
(c) The benefits provided to any employee pursuing a degree or certification in a field approved by the Department Manager, in advance, in writing, for tuition and fees, for any approved course in which the employees has received a “C” grade or better, up to a maximum of 6 credits per semester, $2500 per year. There shall be no reimbursement for courses taken on a pass/fail basis. All expenses must be documented. The courses shall be scheduled so as not to interfere with the employee’s regular work schedule or regular overtime requirements.
Education Assistance Program. During the life of this Agreement, unit personnel shall be eligible for the Comcast Education Assistance Program on the same terms and conditions as other employees in similar job classifications in non‐represented classifications within the Greater Chicago Region. The Employer shall have the right to add to, delete, or modify such Program unilaterally and in its sole discretion, without any obligation to bargain, provided that such changes are uniformly applied to unit and non‐represented employees in similar classifications within the Greater Chicago Region.
Education Assistance Program. Employees may request education assistance for job-related educational courses and trainings. Employees shall follow the approval and authorization process as outlined in the City’s Education Assistance Executive Order. Reimbursement for job-related educational courses and trainings shall be administered on a first-come, first-served basis and subject to budgetary limitations.
Education Assistance Program. Librarians shall be entitled to participate in the College’s Educational Assistance Program.
