Work pressure. Parties to the collective agreement want to create enabling conditions that stimulate employees of the universities of applied sciences to do their work in safety, in good health and with pleasure so that they can contribute, in the best possible way, to high-quality education and research. An ever-changing society sets high requirement for the adaptability of the universities of applied sciences and for the way in which the work is organized. These changing circumstances result in a lot being asked from the employees in terms of responsibility, teaching skills and foreign language skills, digitizing of education, more and more student tutoring in smaller educational settings, operating in changing team compositions and roles. All of this requires proper working conditions and proper facilities. The labour market monitor 2017 shows that employees in higher professional education are above-average content in their work. It also shows that the workload is an important point for improvement. Universities of applied sciences have already been taking measures to decrease the workload, but this has not yet resulted in a decrease in the work pressure across the full width. One of the reasons is that the underlying causes for the work pressure vary and appear at different levels. Research shows that in order to decrease the workload, interventions are required at the lowest possible level in the organization: in the study and degree programme, in the team and for the employee himself. Workload policy The theme ‘workload’ requires a systematic approach within the university of applied sciences. In consultation with the PMR, it is being investigated for which parts of the organization or for which staff categories the workload is unacceptable in the sense that the balance between workload and the employee’s work capacity is deficient. Whenever work pressure is detected as a problem area, the employer, in consultation with the PMR, takes the next step. In the context of what has been said above, parties to the collective agreement have agreed that each university of applied sciences, in consultation with the PMR, develops a policy, before 1 April 2019, to prevent work pressure. The policy leaves room for the study and degree programmes and the service departments to implement their own approach in accordance with the specific needs and circumstances within the study and degree programmes and the service departments. Work pressure. Achieving a proper balance between work and relaxation contributes to a healthy work environment. In this context, the bank constantly carries out surveys into perceived work pressure. These surveys are carried out in consultation with the employee representation bodies. The parties to the CLA evaluate the results of these surveys on a periodic basis.

  • Compressed Work Week The Company and Union recognize the concept of the compressed work week. It is further understood that the compressed work week conditions will apply only to those departments that are on the compressed work week.

  • Workloads The parties agree to the following provisions relating to faculty members' workload. (a) The registration limits for all courses currently offered by the Employer in the academic, career and technology areas are 35 unless established by practice as lower, excepting multiple sections where the limit is the correct multiple of the number of sections involved. (b) The registration limits for English are as follows: (i) Writing and Composition Courses - 25 (ii) Writing Skills -17 (iii) Creative Writing - 22

  • Work Load The professional obligation of academic employees comprises both scheduled and non-scheduled activities. The Guild and the District recognize that it is part of the professional responsibility of faculty to carry out their duties in an appropriate manner and place. As part of this responsibility faculty are expected to play an important role in the recruitment and retention of students, campus and departmental governance, program review, accreditation, planning and mentoring. Faculty commitment to retention will be demonstrated by informing students that they are to talk with the instructor prior to dropping the course. Faculty are encouraged to include a statement to this effect in their course syllabi. While it is understood that course syllabi content falls within the purview of the individual faculty member’s academic freedom, the parties also understand that items required to be part of syllabi in order to maintain college or continuing education accreditation must also be included. Tenured/tenure-track faculty who have less than a full-time contract are not eligible to work any additional assignments including long-term substitution (day-to-day substitution is allowed provided the limits specified in Section 5.2.1.3 are not exceeded). Faculty assignments shall be made in the following priority order: Tenured/tenure-track, pro- rata, overload, Priority of Assignment (POA) adjunct faculty assignments, then non-POA adjunct faculty.

  • Workload An employee who believes that her workload is unsafe or consistently excessive shall discuss the problem with her immediate supervisor. If the problem is not resolved in this discussion, the employee may seek a remedy by means of the grievance procedure. If the matter is not resolved in the grievance procedure, it may be referred to troubleshooter who shall: a) investigate the difference; b) define the issue in the difference; and c) make written recommendations to resolve the differences.

  • Work Location While employed by the Company hereunder, the Executive shall perform his duties (when not traveling or engaged elsewhere in the performance of his duties) at the offices of the Company in Bermuda. The Executive shall travel to such places on the business of the Company in such manner and on such occasions as the Company may from time to time reasonably require.

  • Work Week and Work Day (a) (Applicable to full-time employees only) The normal or standard work week shall be an average of thirty-seven and one-half (37½) hours, with a normal or standard work day of seven and one-half (7½) hours except in those Hospitals where agreements already provide a standard or normal work week of less than thirty-seven and one-half (37½) hours per week and seven and one-half (7½) hours per day. (Those Hospitals with the lesser required hours shall reflect in the salary rates a pro-rata lesser amount compared with salaries for other Hospitals based on the ratio that the standard or normal hours of work at the Hospital concerned are to thirty-seven and one-half (37½) hours and shall appropriately reflect such hours in this Article). The length of time over which the hours of work per week are to be averaged shall be determined locally and shall be set out in the Local Provisions Appendix. (b) (applicable to part-time employees only) The normal or standard work day shall be seven and one-half (7½) hours per day and the normal or standard full- time work week shall be an average of thirty-seven and one- half (37½) hours per week except in those hospitals where agreements already provide a normal or standard work day of less than seven and one-half hours and a normal or standard full-time work week of less than thirty-seven and one-half (37½) hours. (Those Hospitals with the lesser required hours shall reflect in the salary rates a pro-rata lesser amount compared with salaries for other Hospitals based on the ratio that the standard or normal hours work at the Hospital concerned are to thirty-seven and one-half (37½) hours and shall appropriately reflect such hours in this article.) Part-time employees shall be entitled to overtime pay at the rate of time and one-half their regular straight time hourly rate for all hours worked in excess of the normal or standard work day or in excess of the normal or standard full-time work week. The length of time over which the hours of work per week are to be averaged shall be determined locally and shall be set out in the Local Provisions Appendix. (c) Where the Hospital and the Union agree, subject to the approval of the Ministry of Labour, other arrangements regarding hours of work may be entered into between parties on a local level with respect to tours beyond the normal or standard work day in accordance with the provisions set out in Article 25.01 of the collective agreement.

  • Work Period The normal work period shall consist of forty (40) hours of work within a seven (7) day period or eighty (80) hours of work within a fourteen (14) day period.

  • Employee Workload ‌ The Employer shall ensure that an employee’s workload is not unsafe as a result of employee absence(s). Employees may refer safety related workload concerns to the Occupational Health and Safety Committee for investigation under Article 22.3 (Occupational Health and Safety Committee).

  • Work Progress The Developer and Connecting Transmission Owner will keep each other, and NYISO, advised periodically as to the progress of their respective design, procurement and construction efforts. Any Party may, at any time, request a progress report from the Developer or Connecting Transmission Owner. If, at any time, the Developer determines that the completion of the Connecting Transmission Owner’s Attachment Facilities will not be required until after the specified In-Service Date, the Developer will provide written notice to the Connecting Transmission Owner and NYISO of such later date upon which the completion of the Connecting Transmission Owner’s Attachment Facilities will be required.

  • Work Products Grantee shall provide CalRecycle with copies of all final products identified in the Work Plan. Grantee shall also provide CalRecycle with copies of all public education and advertising material produced pursuant to this Agreement.
