Workweek. The workweek for employees shall consist of five (5) consecutive days, Monday through Friday, days of eight (8) hours per day and forty (40) hours per week. The District may establish a workday of less than eight (8) hours or less than five (5) consecutive days or a workweek of less than forty (40) hours for any of its classified positions. This Article shall not restrict the extension of the regular workday or workweek on an overtime basis when such is necessary to carry on the business of the District, except as provided in Section 6 of this Article (Overtime).
