Cleanliness definition

Cleanliness means the oxygen number of any filling material consisting of whole feathers, down, or a combination thereof; and the oxygen number of any filling material consisting of an admixture of feathers and down which contains five percent (5%) of crushed feathers shall not exceed 25 grams of oxygen per 100,000 grams of sample. (Oxygen number is considered to be the amount, by weight, of oxidizable matter such as blood, excreta, and/or fecal matter present.)

  • Loading means the quantity of a specific substance present per unit of surface area, such as the amount of lead in micrograms contained in the dust collected from a certain surface area divided by the surface area in square feet or square meters.
