During School Year. Employees who wish to transfer to another building or position may file a written request of such desire with the Superintendent on the form set forth in Appendix IV, Request for Transfer. Such requests may be submitted at any time.
During School Year. When school is in session or when the Employees are required to work, a notice shall be posted in each school building office as far in advance as practicable, ordinarily at least fourteen (14) calendar days before the final date when applications must be submitted. A copy of said notice shall be given to the Association at the time of posting. Employees who desire to apply for such vacancies shall submit their applications in writing to the Superintendent within the time limit specified in the notice, and the Superintendent shall acknowledge promptly in writing the receipt of all such applications. Applications shall be kept on file in the Superintendent's office for continual consideration for future vacancies until the office is notified in writing by the applicant that the application is withdrawn or until two years have elapsed.
During School Year. 1. When a route is established and becomes open during the school year, the employees may bid for this route and the senior employee who meets the requirements (including good attendance and performance record) shall be granted preference for this route.
2. Should the senior employee be denied the route, reasons for this denial shall be given in writing to said employee. If said employee disagrees with the reason for such denial, it may become a proper subject for the grievance procedure.
3. Route vacancies will be posted within two (2) working days on a bulletin board for a period of two (2) working days setting forth the minimum requirements for such vacancies or new positions. All interested employees must apply in writing within this two- (2-) day period. After a qualified driver has bid on a run, the driver has only two
During School Year. Notice of a vacancy shall be posted on the bus driver’s bulletin board at the Bus Garage for forty-eight (48) hours. A copy of the notice shall be given to the Union President. A notice shall include the following information:
1. Date/time posted and date/time responses expected.
2. Number and description of run being posted as vacant, if applicable.
3. Any special needs required.
4. Date on which driver will start the new run.
5. The beginning and ending dates of the temporary.
During School Year. (a) During the period, September 1 to June 9 inclusive, the Board shall post all teaching positions, which have not been filled internally through the transfer process and which it intends to fill, for a period of five (5) school days at the Board Office and in all the Board’s secondary and elementary schools.
(b) The Board shall post positions of responsibility which it intends to fill, for a period of five (5) school days at the Board Office and in all the Board’s secondary and elementary schools. Notwithstanding the foregoing, the Board shall not post in the schools from June 10 until the end of the summer vacation period. Instead, such postings shall be advertised on the Board’s web site and/or intranet.

After a qualified driver has bid on a run, the driver has only two (2) working days to decide whether or not the driver wants to remain on it. If the driver wants to return to the previous run, the driver must do so within the two- (2-) day period. The driver who bids on and accepts a run after two (2) days of trial period is not eligible to bid on any more runs for the balance of the school year except as noted in section B5 below. After a driver accepts a run within the two- (2-) day trial period, the driver's previous run or a run of like nature will be advertised within two (2) working days. A driver must also be assigned to a run within two (2) working days after bids have been closed. When a route is changed from a non- benefit status to benefit status at any time, it will be posted and re- bid.
4. During the two- (2-) day trial period, the employee shall have the opportunity to revert back to the former position. If the employee is unsatisfactory in the new position, notice and reasons shall be submitted in writing to the employee. The matter may then become a proper subject for the second step of the grievance procedure.
5. A driver may have additional bid(s) on bus route(s) if the posted route(s) would allow the driver to transfer from a non-benefit route to a benefit route. Once a driver is offered a benefit route under this section, the driver will not be eligible to bid on any more routes for the balance of the school year.
