Upon application in writing by the Association on behalf of the nurse to the Hospital, a leave of absence shall be granted to such nurse elected to the office of President of the Ontario Nurses' Association for a period of up to three (3) consecutive two (2) year terms. Notwithstanding Article 10.04, there shall be no loss of service or seniority for a nurse during such leave of absence. During such leave of absence, the nurse's salary and applicable benefits shall be maintained by the Hospital and the Association agrees to reimburse the Hospital in the amount of the full cost of such salary and applicable benefits. It is understood, however, that during such leave the nurse shall be deemed to be an employee of the Ontario Nurses' Association. The nurse agrees to notify the Hospital of her or his intention to return to work at least two (2) weeks prior to the date of such return.

Upon application in writing by the Union on behalf of the employee to the Employer, a leave of absence shall be granted to such employee elected to the office of President of the Ontario Nurses' Association for a period of up to three (3) consecutive two year terms. Notwithstanding Article 12.04, there shall be no loss of service or seniority for a full-time employee during such leave of absence. There shall be no loss of service or seniority for a part-time employee during such leave of absence. During such leave of absence, the employee's salary and applicable benefits shall be maintained by the Employer and the Union agrees to reimburse the Employer in the amount of the full cost of such salary and applicable benefits. It is understood, however, that during such leave the employee shall be deemed to be an employee of the Ontario Nurses' Association.

The nurse agrees to notify OPTIONS of her intention to return to work at least two (2) weeks prior to the date of such return.

It is understood, however, that during such leave the nurse shall be deemed to be nurse of the Ontario Nurses' Association. The nurse agrees to notify the Employer of her or his intention to return to work at least twenty- eight (28) calendar days prior to the date of such return. Leave of absence under this provision shall be in addition to Union leave provided in Article 13.05 (a) of this Agreement. Notwithstanding the above, the Employer and the Union may make alternate arrangements in respect to salary and benefit continuation.

There shall be no loss of service or seniority for the employee during such leave of absence, and the employee's salary and applicable benefits shall be maintained by the Employer. The Union agrees to reimburse the Employer for the full cost of such salary and applicable benefits no later than one (1) month following the date that such costs are incurred by the Employer. In remitting, the Union shall provide a list of employees for whom remittances are being made along with their Social Insurance Numbers. It is understood, however, that during the leave of absence, the employee shall be deemed an employee of the Ontario Nurses' Association, and not an employee of the Employer. The employee will provide the Employer with at least four (4) weeks’ notice prior to returning to her former position.

During such leave of absence, the NP's salary and applicable benefits shall be maintained by the Employer and the Union agrees to reimburse the Employer in the amount of the full cost of such salary and applicable benefits. It is understood, however, that during such leave the NP shall be deemed to be an employee of the Ontario Nurses' Association. The NP agrees to notify the Employer of her intention to return to work at least two (2) weeks prior to the date of such return.
