Participating Teachers. A referred participating teacher is a unit member 18 with permanent status who receives assistance and coaching to improve 19 instructional skills, classroom management, knowledge of subject, and 20 related aspects of teaching performance. 21 There are three (3) categories of participating teachers. 22 A. Referred Teacher Participants (RTP) 23 1. Permanent unit members who exhibit performance 24 deficiencies in the Formal Observation process, and have received a 25 “Needs Improvement” rating by the site evaluator in one or more of Parts 1, 26 2, 3 or 4 of the Standards for the Teaching Profession, may participate in a 27 Performance Improvement Plan; PAR may be one of the components of 28 any such Performance Improvement Plan. 29 2. Permanent unit members who exhibit performance 30 deficiencies and have received a “Needs Improvement” rating by the site 31 evaluator on the Evaluation of Certificated Personnel Summary Evaluation 32 Report in one or more of Parts 1, 2, 3 or 4 of the Standards for the Teaching 33 Profession, shall be required to participate in a Performance Improvement 34 Plan; PAR may be one of the components of any such Performance 35 Improvement Plan. 36 3. Permanent unit members who exhibit performance 37 deficiencies and have received an “Unsatisfactory” rating by the site 1 evaluator on the Evaluation of Certificated Personnel Summary Evaluation 2 Report in one or more of Parts 1, 2, 3 or 4 of the Standards for the Teaching 3 Profession, shall be required to participate in the PAR program as an 4 intervention. 5 4. During the period of assistance, the RTP’s 6 performance relative to the PAR program shall be the joint responsibility of 7 the PAR panel and Consulting Teacher, in collaboration with the principal. 8 5. The PAR committee will forward the final report to the 9 Governing Board. 10 6. The results of the participating teacher’s participation 11 in the PAR program may be used in the evaluation of the teacher pursuant 12 to Education Code Section 44660 et. seq. 13 B. Volunteer Teacher Participants (VTP) 14 1. A permanent unit member who seeks to improve 15 his/her teaching performance may request the PAR committee to assign a 16 consulting teacher to provide peer assistance. It is understood that the 17 purpose of such participation is to provide peer assistance, and that the 18 consulting teacher will play no role in the evaluation of the teaching 19 performance of a volunteer teacher participant. Participating Teachers means persons enrolled in CGU’s Induction Program who hold a valid California Credential and are working or engaging in classroom experiences to clear their preliminary credential.
Participating Teachers. A Participating Teacher is a classroom teacher who is referred to and required to participate in the PAR program as a result of an unsatisfactory rating of the bargaining unit member’s performance in any three of the four areas of teaching methods or instruction on the Summary Evaluation Form (Appendix D, Sections A through D).   • Compensation is not provided to Participating Teachers for participation in PAR, except that authorized in participation in activities such as workshops, seminars, beyond the regular work day.

  • The Joint Panel shall determine the number of Volunteer Participating Teachers admitted into the program each year.
