Participating Teachers. The Participating Teacher is a unit member teacher who receives assistance and coaching to improve instructional skills, classroom management, knowledge of subject, and related aspects of teaching performance as stated in the parties collective bargaining agreement. There are three (3)
Participating Teachers. 1. A Referred Participating Teacher is a teacher with permanent status who receives assistance to improve his or her instructional skills, classroom management, knowledge of subject, and/or related aspects of his or her teaching performance as a result of an unsatisfactory final evaluation. An unsatisfactory final evaluation occurs when no less than three (50%) of the six standards for teaching professionals are marked unsatisfactory on the final evaluation. The process of the referral of teachers with an unsatisfactory final evaluation to the Join Committee will be the responsibility and function of the Human Resources Department and shall be completed within the last 20 days of the school year so that the Join Committee will have appropriate time to arrange for the assignment of a Consulting Teacher for the Referred Participating Teacher for assistance during the subsequent school year. Priority to receive assistance from Consulting Teachers shall be given to Referred Participating Teachers.
2. A Volunteer Participating Teacher is a teacher with permanent status who can benefit from the substantial assistance available through the PAR Programs as determined by the Joint Committee. An evaluator may recommend that a permanent teacher participate as a volunteer. The purpose of participation in the PAR Program for the Volunteer Participating Teacher is for peer assistance only. The Consulting Teacher shall not participate in a performance review of the Volunteer Participating Teacher. The Volunteer Participating Teacher may terminate his or participation in the PAR Program at any time. By a majority vote, a teacher shall be approved by the Joint Committee to receive assistance as a Volunteer Participating Teacher only if (and only for the period that) the Joint Committee determines that the program has sufficient capacity to serve the teacher.
3. With the approval of the Joint Committee: (1) a Referred Participating Teacher may select his or her Consulting Teacher from the list of Consulting Teachers provided by the Joint Committee; and (2) a different Consulting Teacher may be selected to work with the Participating Teacher or the Consulting Teacher. The Joint Committee shall approve selections after considering the preferences of the Referred Participating Teacher and Consulting Teacher, and shall attempt to reasonably accommodate those preferences.

Participating Teachers. The Consulting Teacher shall assist 8 Participating Teachers by modeling, observing, coaching, conferencing, or other 9 activities, which, in his/her professional judgment, will assist the Participating 10 Teacher.
Participating Teachers. 18.5.1. A Participating Teacher as defined in this Article must participate in the Program and receive assistance from and review by Consulting Teachers as set forth below.
18.5.2. The Consulting Teacher’s assistance and review shall focus on the specific areas rated as less than effective by the Participating Teacher’s evaluator in the remediation plan which is developed after the Participating Teacher receives the unsatisfactory rating as defined in this Article.
18.5.3. The recommendations of improvement contained in the remediation plan shall be written, aligned with student learning, clearly stated, and consistent with Education Code Section 44662. These recommendations shall be considered as performance goals required by Education Code Section 44664(a) and 44500(b)(2).
18.5.4. The Principal and the Consulting Teacher assigned shall meet and discuss the recommended areas of improvement outlined by the Principal in the remediation plan and the types of assistance that may be provided by the Consulting Teacher.
18.5.5. The Consulting Teacher and the evaluating principal are expected to establish a cooperative relationship and coordinate and align the assistance provided to the Participating Teacher.
18.5.6. The Consulting Teacher and the Participating Teacher shall meet to discuss the plan for assistance. After that meeting, the Consulting Teacher will provide assistance as set forth in this Article, which shall include multiple observations of the Participating Teacher by the Consulting Teacher.
18.5.7. Before April 1 of each year, the Consulting Teacher shall complete a written report regarding the Participating Teacher’s participation in the Program consisting solely of: (1) a summary of the areas targeted for improvement
Participating Teachers. 14.2.1 A Referred Participating Teacher is a classroom teacher with permanent status who receives assistance to improve his/her instructional skills, classroom management, knowledge of subject, and/or other relevant aspects of his/her teaching performance, as a result of the issuance of two "Unsatisfactory" ratings in the overall categories one through five (1-5) of the Teacher's Performance Evaluation Form. The form shall align with the Standards and Elements of the California Standards for the Teaching Profession and shall be included in the Appendices section of the labor agreement. Descriptors to be used as basis for establishing ratings shall be included in the Appendix of the Agreement.
14.2.2 The PAR Program expects and strongly encourages a cooperative relationship between the Consulting Teacher, Referred Participating Teacher, and the Principal with respect to the process of peer assistance and review. The Consulting Teacher may meet with the principal or immediate supervisor to review and discuss the basis for referral to the PAR Program. All communication prior to the final report between the Consulting Teacher and Referred Participating Teacher shall be confidential, and shall not be shared with any others except the Joint Committee.
Participating Teachers. A Referred Participating Teacher is a teacher with permanent status who is in need of improvement in subject matter knowledge, teaching strategies and/or maintenance of a suitable learning environment (California Education Code Section 44662.b and as per the California Standards for the Teaching Profession under Effective Environment for Student Learning), as documented in an unsatisfactory Final Evaluation. Initial notification of mandatory participation in the PAR Program will have been stated on the Final Evaluation Form.
Participating Teachers. 18.5.1. A Participating Teacher as defined in this Article must participate in the Program and receive assistance from and review by Consulting Teachers as set forth below.

Before April 1 of each year, the Consulting Teacher shall complete a written report regarding the Participating Teacher’s participation in the Program consisting solely of: (1) a summary of the areas targeted for improvement (2) a description of the assistance provided to the Participating Teacher; and (3) sufficient information to enable the Joint Panel to make its recommendations to the Governing Board. This report shall be submitted to the Joint Panel, with a copy also submitted to the Participating Teacher and the Principal.
18.5.8. The above report shall be included as part of the Participating Teacher’s annual evaluation.
18.5.9. The evaluating principal shall have the discretion as to whether and how to use the report in the annual evaluation.
18.5.10. The Participating Teacher shall have the discretion as to whether and how to use the report in a response to the annual evaluation.

Participating Teachers. All teachers employed by the district that qualify for New Teacher Induction may participate and complete the New Teacher Induction Program.
21.1.1. 1Teachers who successfully complete all requirements to clear their credential through the District provided New Teacher Induction Program will commit to working in the District for an additional number of years equal to the number of years enrolled in this program. (For example, a teacher who spends two years in the District provided Induction Program will commit to working an additional two years, for a total of four years.) Years of service worked in the District prior to entering the New Teacher Induction Program will count toward total years of service.
Participating Teachers a. Teachers may participate in the Program in one of four ways:
Participating Teachers. 1. The Mandatory Participating Teacher shall:
a. Enter the program on July 1 of the following school year upon receiving an overall rating of “unsatisfactory” on their final evaluation.
b. Be provided a list of Consulting Teachers so that the Mandatory Participating Teacher can make a request. The Joint Panel will assign the Consulting Teacher for the Participating Teacher.
c. Receive sustained assistance from the beginning of the school year until the final report. Sustained assistance is defined as six months of services with a minimum of five scheduled opportunities to meet with the assigned Consulting Teacher.
d. Receive immediate feedback after each observation.
2. The Voluntary Participating Teacher shall:
a. Become eligible for the program by volunteering and applying to the Joint Panel.
b. If accepted into the program by the Joint Panel, be assigned a Peer Coach.
c. Meet with the Peer Coach to discuss and develop a professional growth plan.
d. Receive services from a Peer Coaching Consulting Teacher.
