Sick Leave Defined. Sick leave means a period of time, but not constituting compensation, the purpose of which is to encourage temporarily ill, injured, or disabled employees to remain away from their work in order to avoid endangering other employees by the spread of illness or the possibility of injury caused by an employee incapable of fully performing his job due to illness, injury, or disability.
Sick Leave Defined. Sick leave means the period of time when an Employee is permitted to be absent from work by virtue of being sick or disabled by an accident for which compensation is not payable under the Worker's Compensation Act. An employee shall receive pay for straight time lost on the day of a compensable accident. 22.02 a) Each full-time Employee will be credited with six (6) days’ sick leave with full pay on January 1st of each year. A maximum of three (3) days’ unused sick leave may be carried over to the next year and those carried over days shall be the first days used in that next year and there shall be no further carry over of those days to any subsequent year.
