Absence and Payment for Court Leave. A. An employee or long-term nonpermanent who is called to serve as a juror or subpoenaed as a witness shall be entitled to court leave. Employees or long-term nonpermanents who work the graveyard or swing shift shall be placed on day shift for the day or the duration of the time the employee is scheduled to appear, whichever is longer, provided the Employer receives twenty-four
Absence and Payment for Court Leave. A bargaining unit member who is called to serve as a juror or subpoenaed as a witness shall be entitled to court leave. Written documents such as a subpoena, Xxxxxxxx’x statement of attendance and compensation for services, per diem and travel, may be required to support a request for court leave. Bargaining unit members shall submit appropriate moneys to the Employer received from the court as compensation for court service during regularly scheduled or assigned work periods and in turn shall be paid their current salary while on court leave.

Court leave may be required to be supported by written documents such as a subpoena, marshal's statement of attendance and compensation for services, per diem and travel. Employees shall turn over to the Employer all jury and witness fees received from the court as compensation for service and in turn shall be paid their current salary while on court leave. Failure to do so shall result in a deduction of personal leave, or pay, from the Employee in half-day, or whole-day increments. Police Officers see page 27 A.7.
