Absence of Union Officers. The College agrees that any employee who is an officer or delegate of the Union shall be allowed such reasonable time off as is necessary for the performance of the duties pertaining to his/her office, provided that he/she submits to the College a written request therefore with reasonable advance notice. Such time off shall not interrupt the accumulation of seniority by the employee involved. The College shall not be required to pay such employee for such time off. Employees shall not engage in any Union activities during working hours, except as provided with respect to the grievance procedure in Article 6 and except that a reasonable number of employees who are duly authorized agents of the Union shall be paid for time actually lost from work in attending meetings with the College during normal working hours for the negotiation of a new, extended or renewed collective bargaining agreement.

Absence of Union Officers. Any employee selected as an officer or delegate of the Union shall be allowed reasonable time off for the performance of such duties without loss of seniority rights but without pay.
Absence of Union Officers. The University agrees that any member of the Union selected as an officer or delegate shall be allowed time off which shall be determined by the University upon receipt of a request for time off for the performance of such duties, without loss of seniority rights. The University shall not be required to pay such employees for time off. No employee shall engage in any Union activities during working hours. Employees representing the Union shall be paid for time devoted to the discussion of grievances with representatives of the University, or in negotiations with the University for a new Agreement.

  • Union Office Upon application by the Union, in writing, the Hospital will give reasonable consideration to a request for leave of absence, without pay, to an employee elected or appointed to full-time Union office. It is understood that not more than one (1) employee in the bargaining unit may be on such leave at the same time. Such leave, if granted, shall be for a period of one (1) calendar year (in the case of the Union President, two (2) calendar years) from the date of appointment unless extended for a further specific period by agreement of the parties. Seniority and service shall accumulate during such leave to the maximum provided, if any, under the provisions of the Collective Agreement. It will become the responsibility of the employee for full payment of any applicable benefits in which the employee is participating during such leave of absence.

  • Union Officials 1. The Union will notify the Company in writing of the election, appointment, or removal of Union shop xxxxxxx(s). The District Lodge will notify the Company in writing of the Committee members at that location. 2. Effective upon the Date of Signing of this Agreement, the Company will assume the cost of a total of 150,000 hours of straight-time pay per year, to be used by shop stewards and other employees authorized by the Union for the purpose of administration of this Agreement and all other collective bargaining agreements between the Union and the Company. a. Shop stewards and other employees authorized by District Lodge 141 must give prior notice and report all time spent on Union business to the designated management representative. b. The Union will apportion the total annual allotment of 150,000 hours among the Company collective bargaining agreements it administers. In the event of an increase or reduction in the number of such agreements, the parties will meet to discuss and agree upon a proportionate adjustment in the hours allotment. 3. The parties will work with each other in good faith to ensure both that: (1) employees are reasonably represented in grievances and (2) the Company’s operation continues without undue delay. 4. The Union will provide the Company with the names, addresses, and phone numbers of its official Union Representatives. 5. The Company will provide the Union a reasonable amount of time as needed (not to exceed 2 hours) to participate in new-hire orientation for employees covered under this Agreement. 6. If requested by the Union and agreed to by the Company, Local Committeemen may be assigned to the Day Shift and to Saturday and Sunday as regular days off. In the event a significant dispute arises and remains unresolved it may be escalated to the level of AGC and HR at that station and, if not resolved, to the VP of Labor Relations and the President and Directing General Chairman.

  • Data Protection Officer 10.1 The Data Processor will appoint a Data Protection Officer where such appointment is required by Data Protection Laws and Regulations.

  • Opinion of General Counsel of the Company The General Counsel of the Company, shall have furnished to the Representatives, at the request of the Company, a written opinion, dated the Closing Date and addressed to the Underwriters, in form and substance reasonably satisfactory to the Representatives and substantially in the form previously agreed by the parties hereto.

  • Family Responsibility Leave An employee is entitled to up to 5 days of unpaid leave during each employment year to meet responsibilities related to: (a) the care, health or education of a child in the employee’s care; or (b) the care or health of any other member of the employee’s immediate family.

  • President’s Leave The Employer shall authorize a leave of absence with pay for the President of the Association. The leave of absence with pay shall be taken for a two-year period beginning two (2) weeks after written notice by the Association to the Bureau of Employee Relations and the newly-elected President’s agency. During such leave of absence with pay, the President shall continue to receive and retain all of his/her wages, rights, benefits, and seniority as a state employee except that all leave accumulation shall be frozen for the duration of the leave of absence. Upon returning from the leave of absence, the President shall resume earning leave at the rates appropriate to his/her service at the time of return. The Employer agrees that there shall be no action taken with respect to the President or the President’s state position prior to or following his/her return from the leave of absence because of his/her legal union activities. The Association agrees to reimburse the Employer for the full cost of the wages and benefits for the President, and to indemnify the Employer against any and all liabilities associated with the leave of absence, including but not limited to workers' compensation.

  • Opinion of General Counsel for the Company The General Counsel of the Company shall have furnished to the Representatives, at the request of the Company, his written opinion, dated the Closing Date and addressed to the Underwriters, in form and substance reasonably satisfactory to the Representatives, to the effect set forth in Annex A-2 hereto.

  • Assistant Professor An Assistant Professor is a member of a Faculty of the University who shall ordinarily have the following minimum qualifications: (a) A doctoral degree; (b) Aptitude for teaching university students. The doctoral requirement may be waived if the Candidate has a record of suitable teaching, scholarship as defined in Article 1.1(n); or, in lieu of such a record, has professional qualifications and experience to enable him/her to make an appropriate academic contribution to the University.
